Fiji Pearls

Lmgarden - love what you did with those pearls, bracelet is wonderful!! Love the richness of those colours.
Definitely interested to see some of the other designs you guys come up with.
Those were harvested in May 2016, and pulled from our J Hunter exports in Hong Kong. We were pretty happy with the crop, but rolled a good number over - into upcoming harvest in Sept. There was a little more silver in that harvest (we had just endured cyclone Winston) be interesting to see how pearls from the same crop but given 6 more months to recover look.

This pair ended up going into Europe with Jorge Gellner via J. Hunter and Gellner partnership.
These did not have an issue with colour! Also from May 2016 harvest, same as yours.
Fuscia - that's what we termed this rich colour. This pair is special.

Thank you, Justin, for providing such uniquely beautiful pearls!! The fuscia pair your holding is beyond compare - and I want!!

I'm so happy with my bracelet, and I'm mesmerized by the colors! Next week I'll be working on another bracelet and necklace. Soon there will be even more Fiji Pearl posts - I know a few pger's have projects in the works. Love, love, love Fiji pearls!!

Justin, those 2 fuschia pearls are extraordinary; can't wait to see what September harvests bring! Meanwhile, I'm just staring at my own adopted Fiji pearl children, trying to decide how to set them :)

Ooohhh, Cathy can't wait to see what you come up with!!

LM: I can't stop gazing at your bracelet!

But then Justin posted those purples and I just went, SQUIRREL! And now I can't take my eyes off THOSE.

Lm - Your bracelet has already led me to decide that I am going to "need" one as well to go along with my Fiji lariat necklace that is being made. Here are my necklace pearls again. First, the top three in a gorgeous Fiji shell.

Next, my four Fiji pearls matched for color to yellow gold, red gold, green gold, and palladium chains.

As you can probably tell, I gravitate to the intense colors of the Fiji pearls.

Justin, those fuscia pearls are amazing. Absolutely stunning.

I could glaze at these pearls all day long. They have such intense coloring. I would love to own a few one day!

Red, those chains look so wonderful with your pearls! My own Fiji babies are more subtle, and require some thinking on how to set them to best bring out their beauty :) In looking at lmgarden's bracelet, I don't think I have quite enough for a simple line bracelet, so back to the "drawing board" ... but maybe I have too many for a necklace ... this is going to take a while LOL.

Red, I can't wait to see the end result! Those colors are so stunningly intense!

Red - very very cool Fiji pearl lariat.
My wife pointed out I spelt Fuschia - wrong and my computer tells me this is the right way.
LM: Bracelet - is fun for me to look at. Light plays such an important role in pearl colours.

June 2016 Hong Kong show I ran into Michael Hahn - who used to buy from our auctions. It was fun to catch up, all aspects of pearling in my life have / are / still challenging and fun. Anyways, as we talked he reached into his pocket and pulled out this golden drop. He had purchased this pearl and its "partner" in one of our auctions, and asked if we might be able to find a match. I snapped a few pictures. I look at this pearl and it amazes me. He said his client sent him with strict order's to hunt me down and find a match - I can see why. I love these relationships and the fact this pearl means so much to someone - i will find one in our Oct harvest and send it on its way - wonderful pearl.

Breathtaking golden drop pearl, Justin. Perfect shape and sensual colors. Love the subtle rainbow of colors on the lustrous surface. It is easy to understand why someone would fall madly in love with it.

Wish you good luck finding a match to that stunning golden drop, Justin ... Someone really loves that pearl ... as we all love the Fiji pearls we were lucky to adopt at the ruckus! Jeremy gave me a few of the shells you sent, and I showed them to my grandson (age just 9) ... he asked if he could have one, and spent 20 minutes choosing the "Most special color one, MomMom!" He is sound asleep in our camper now, but asked that I tell you "THANKS! " for sending the shells :)

Unbelievable drop pearl, Justin. I can't say I have a favorite Fiji pearl color - I love the mixture of colors together. Although, if I had a pair of those golden drops or fuscia rounds, either could very well become my favorite color!

Amazing drop!!! Those colors!!! Wow! I hope you find a mate for it and make someone very happy!

CathyKeshi tell your grandson he is most welcome and we will get more for him.
I am not at the farm but in the capital city of Suva, staying in an apartment we share with friends.
Noticed she has a bunch of our shells around. One of them has the MOP colour that would / could produce that pearl.
Our shells are pretty special - and we do put in a ton of time testing, trialling, researching and failing..... but we do win a few battles.
Environmental conditions certainly play a role in colours - food, stress associated with......... (so many you don't know)But we certainly put in the effort to produce something unique.

Here is that shell.
