Queen Elizabeth's Pearls

She is a strong and wise woman. Thanks for sharing the article!

Much enjoyed the article. Especially enjoyed the reference to wearing pearls "at rain-sodden horse meets."
An article on Queen Mary would be something, huh? Always dripping with pearls.
I have a fascination with royal jewelry like some have for royals.

Does anyone know what kind of pearls she is wearing? Are they natural or cultured?

It's really sweet that she still wears the button pearl earrings her grandmother gave her!

What a fun article, thanks for posting, Newberry! The "rain-sodden horse meets" got me LOL ... I got teased last weekend for wearing pearls to a drenchingly wet camping weekend amusement park birthday party for my grandson. You know the kind of day ... when the inside of your shoes are so wet they squeak??? My PP white baroque akoya 2 nested strands, matching bracelet and earrings took it all without flinching :)

So glad you all enjoyed the article. I would imagine that her pearls are all naturals. Some like the triple strand everyday wear.

Thanks for posting! I am struck by how much her graduated triple strand reminds me of our dear BAS's triple!

"Fit for a Queen!" Jeremy did an amazing job with my triple. I'll have to wear it very soon!

Thanks for sharing the article, Newberry!

Some of her pieces are so simple and elegant.

Nice reading. I think I have read somewhere else all her pearls are natural. I certainly don't expect her to have to worry about nacre thinness!

The jewelry at the Tower of London is jaw dropping -- it was my mother's highlight in her visit to London when I was living there. Beware, they have a moving belt so people don't stop there drool at the jewels... it gets very busy.
