Taiwan Jewellery & Gem Fair

Hi, I am new here :)

I'm so glad you enjoy your trip to Taiwan~ I live in Taipei, so this market is actually my favorite place to go for jewlery~ :)

To people who may have chance to visit this market in the future, beware there are lots of B and C grade jadeite tried to pass as A grade. And also, don't be shy to ask for discounts...cause the shop will usually provide a 20% off if you asked.

Welcome Arielle! Appreciate the shopping tips!

Hello Ladies! Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas everyone!

I just landed safely in Taipei, and already dragged mum to lunch - 1 uni don (sea urchin over rice) and 1 toro don (fatty tuna sashimi over rice)!

Hey Pattye! I realized after posting that I had the first batch of Transformers in my Victoria Grayson thread, so have moved the posting over and deleted it from here, sorry! :p The ring is actually tourmaline rubellite cabochon. Tourmaline is favored by us Asians as a semi-precious stone because a few emperors in the past, particularly in the Ching dynasty, really like Tourmaline!

Glad you arrived safely, Purranha ... what a delightful lunch! Well, I confess wasabi is the one food I don't eat, but the rest ... yum! Have a wonderful family visit and tell your mom Hi from all of her fan club here :)

Doubt of anyone minded looking that piece over twice! I didn't guess tourmaline, a lovely gemstone it is!!

JerseyPearl - it is just a regular egg yoke - I have been told that yoke color looks brighter when farms feeds the chicks better nutrition? The yoke gives the chirashi a boost in flavor and moistness.

Sharing one more food p@rn pic - there is a tiny 8 spot standing only sushi bar located in a traditional wet market in Taipei. It only opens noon-5pm daily and is one of the best bargain sushi place in Taipei! I have to go there every time I'm in Taipei.

That toro don looks delish!!! One of my favorite sushi foods topped with ikura! You're right about the eggs. I have hens and what you feed them determines the yolk color.

Hope you're having a wonderful time with your family this holiday! If you go shopping, you have to share photos!!! ;)
