It would have made more sense to ask before I bought it rather than after... but anyway, do you think these are natural colored, and also is $93 including shipping an okay price? They were pre-owned and listed as 7.0-7.5mm, 8 inch bracelet, 14k gold clasp. I think it's okay but of course not sure.

As I understand it, blue akoyas are not usually naturally colored, but the treatment is supposed to be stable. I saw some once and have lusted after that look ever since :) If you want to compare prices, why not take a look at some of the on-line vendors? The ones that don't specify Natural color should be comparable. It sounds pretty good, though.

I can't see the picture yet, btw. It says 'pending approval'.

If they look anything like my friends necklace, you'll love them :)

PS

I sort of bought the smallest strand of natural colored blue akoya when the Halloween discount was on at Pearl Paradise... Not here yet.

It's pretty- I really like the iridescence of blue Akoya- lots of shimmering pinks and greens.

Hey Karin, was that a little whisper? ;-)

Hi SeaU, check for accumulations of dye around the drill holes and irregular spots of each pearl. Good luck!

and by golly, I'm feeling the same "kick myself" feeling I get after each sale passes by, in spite of my awareness that I have a goal...
Emotions. So Unruly. Oh Bother (as Pooh says).

Hi Sea Urchin,
Beautiful bracelet! They certainly look like the natural Akoya blue color to me. One of my favorites :)

Yes Lisa, definately a whisper... At least there is one thing less on my list now

Sea Urchin, the bracelet looks lovely. I'm sure you'll enjoy it - dyed or not. And think of how you can entertain people with stories of how akoyas can be other colors than white :)

Thanks everyone. I'll post a pic of it on my greedy little wrist when it arrives!

Here is it in real life. I don't really see any blue in it "in person" but it shows up blue in photos. (?)

I have a short grey akoya strand on the way and wanted to string them together to make a longer strand. Anyone know what kind of string to use? I've ordered the PowerPro that Pearl Dreams suggested but wondering if a different color would be better for these? Thanks.

If you were to upload your photo to an album on your profile page, it would have an image link that you could put in your post.
This may help avoid the delay associated with having an attachment approved.

Thanks, Pearl Dreams. Can you see it now? I guess I did post it here first and then put it in my album I can see it here as soon as I post it so I didn't know everyone else can't.

Lovely bracelet!

Does anyone know how I could go about obtaining some blue baroque Akoyas to match my existing strand, so that I can make it into a double please? I am about 4in short.

Thanks in advance.

DK :)

That's pretty, Sea Urchin-- perhaps it will appear bluer to you in different lighting (maybe diffuse light at noon, which is bluer light.)

Hi SeaU, what do your pearls look like, if not blue? Silver, or pale gray?
