Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

Ok I am pretty proud of this one! Finally made use of my former FWP choker that wasn't getting much wear!

Visiting Dad today. Long mixed tin-cup from Kojima. White South Sea, freshwater pearls and small keshi. My Aunt Love's Blue Lagoon necklace with an enhancer that allows me to wear any pendant. The Queen freshwater pendant from Kojima. A pair of freshwater pearl drops from Kojima. I had these set so I can wear them as necklace pendants or on my own earrings.

I felt like putting this necklace on today. These are the 6.2-9.0 mm akoyas I found at a local consignment shop a few years back. The nacre is thick and the clasp is 14K with 3 little diamonds. The necklace is 18" long.

These were grubby and needed restringing, so they were bargain priced, and on sale to boot. :)

Oh, I couldn't resist. I wasn't going to buy anything during Hisano's last little h live event, but how could I resist the pendant that matched the earrings I bought before the live event? Souffle' pearls stuffed with blue topaz and tiny seed pearls. The blue topaz is much prettier and sparklier in person.

@Pearl Dreams what a great find! Unearthing hidden treasure is always so satisfying!

Please can I ask some basic pearl/nacre questions: when you posted this photo, does this section show how thick the nacre is? Also, it looks hollow at the core but I thought we should be able to see the bead?

Thank you!

I’ve been consolidating my pearl collection recently (by gifting pieces to my mum and MIL mostly), as I found that I was reaching for the same pieces over and over again.

So, please forgive me if my pearls are getting repetitive!

7mm drop natural white akoya peeking out under my turtleneck, from Flower Jem on Instagram. I can’t remember if I’ve posted a close up of the clasp, I really like how the length is adjustable as it allows for a lot of flexibility.

However, now that I think about it, it’ll probably rub the pearls at the back of the necklace. But I really don’t want to restring them as I value that they were personally strung by Mr Flower Jem himself!

Yes, that is how I understand it.

That's the nacre thickness. I think the darker portion is the bead nucleus.

I love the clasp! And the pearls glow. Love the blue knots, too.

Playing with my little h collection. I never bought the matching earrings. I always bought complementary earrings because I like pieces that don't match. I was really drawn to the ruby point earrings because they were asymmetrical. I think I bought all the earrings at a different time than I bought the pendants, too. The gemstones are reclaimed from old, broken pieces of jewelry.

Emerald Finestrino enhancer pendant on a pearl and emerald tin-cup. Emerald and seed pearl Geode earrings.
Ruby Grotto pendant and ruby Pointe earrings.
Blue topaz and seed pearl Finestrino pendant and Geode earrings.

I wore the Blue topaz pieces today and received several compliments from the sales ladies.
