My pearls

Thank you Pattye, Lilpearl and Bernadette. The new ombre strand is very comfortable to wear. I would like to see those huggies Pattye. Such a cleaver idea. I love versatile jewelry. I have a pair of yellow gold huggies with diamonds, but I prefer my silver ones from Pearlescence. The silver ones are more comfortable and prettier I think. I have made quite a lot of pairs that I can use with the silver huggies. I also have a vermeil pair of hoops that I bought from augustus-collection. The ones that I use with my copper green tahitians from Cees. They are really secure as well. I added a tiny silikon stopper on each of them just in case. I think that I have some pairs for those as well. I see if I can fknd any photos. Otherwise I take some.
Lilpearl, your new huggies are totally amazing. I can't wait to see them on you.
Bernadette, I am touched that you like my creation. Especially since you are a proffesional and I just play around on my free time, learning everything I know through books and pearlguide.

Those gold huggies photos is nowhere to be found. They must have been wiped away when my phone stopped working in april and never reawoke. I think that I sanatized it a bit much. I have since learnt how too make safety copies on Google. I did find some other huggie photos. First the copper green tahitian earrings from Cees. I mostly use them with my rainbow strand or with my frog pendant.

I went through my earrings and took some photos of those gold and diamond huggies. I don't have any pearls to hang from them at the moment. I have a vague memory of removing the jumprings so that I could use them with the vermeil huggies. The ones with my copper green tahitians on.

They were difficult to photograph so I used a garnet and citrine gold earring as support. Copper green tahitian earrings from Cees.

And then there are these something earrings. I have had them for years. I think that I bought them as golden akoyas or maybe golden south sea pearls. I didn't really trust the seller. South sea pearls they are not, to small. Could they be golden akoyas? Could they dye freshwater pearls that good maybe 8 years ago? I bought them as a drilled pair. I did examine them with a loupe when I first got them and couldn't find any color residue. Then I set them with gold caps and sort of forgot all about them. They didn't match anything at that time. Nowadays I don't care that much, things don't always has to match. With my golden akoya tassel.

I also remade my drop tahitian earrings today, the pearls are from Druzydesign. I really dislike shepherds hooks, so I glued on a cap and the pinpart of a hatpin on both, added jumprings and voila now I can use them with my Pearlescence huggies.


Now they will get more use. With my colorful drop tahitian strand, with the most colorful pearls from a strand from Pearl Paradise and one from Wen Pearls.

Today I am wearing my copper green tahitians from Cees and my frog pendant from Pearlsociety. I need something light. Have to clean the house, procrastinating with pearl photos...


Biggest cat has taken to pearls as well. I carelessly left some leftover pearls on my beading board. She stole a circled tahitian one and then guarded it like a dragon. It got some wacks as well.

I took some new photos of my pendants. Sometimes they get overlooked. I forgot all four tassels...

I don't wear them enough. Mostly I wear strands and forget them, except for frog that is. Frog gets reglar use.

I have finally knotted that strand of dyed akoyas I got from Pearlescence last year. I tried it once before but they didn't go well with the silver clasp. This time I knotted it with a gold clasp and unsed beaders secret in plum. Much better. The pearls reminds me of autumn, with lots of aubergine, rust and some teal and green as well. I don't know how they manage to dye these pearls, there are lots of different colors. And I cannot see any trace of them being dyed, but they are. Here they are with my aubergine tahitian studs from Oceanscove. They look so similar. I didn't think that they would.


With my golden south sea enhancer from Pearlsociety. There has to be some golden leaves for autumn as well.



The dyed akoyas are 7-7,5mm and the aubergine tahitian studs are 8mm.
I tried to use beaders secret in plum on one of my freshwater ripples strand, but that didn't work like I had hoped.

I am remaking them tomorrow with rose maybe.
Yesterday I was wearing my tahitian tassel Isabella and my mismatched tahitian studs from Oceanscove. I love that tassel, and it does not look muddy in normal light, or indoor lighting like my ripples.


Today I am wearing my deep golden south sea strand from Cees and my deep golden south sea studs from Pearlescence.

When I was a child, the light at the side of the roads were often yellow. I hated that light because it took away all colors turning them brown. I have always been intriged by colors. That why I have a problem with the ripples I think, they turn brown unless the light is really optimal.

I think your ripple pearls are beautiful (not muddy at all) and will look lovely with rose thread.

Thank you Marianne. I hope that rose will be better. Last night when I was watching them next to the purple freshwater strand, they looked like they had some golden overtones. I might try gold as well.

I have been trying to cool those ripples down a bit. On my freshwater drop ripples of yesterday I finally used aqua and that accually works well.



Then when I was still in stringing mood I knotted the rounder bigger mauvey green freshwater ripples with lilac.



The drop ripples have sharper luster and stronger colors.


I can connect them to make a rope, but it is rather heavy.


Then I cut apart my purple freshwater strand and my white freshwater keshi strand.

I'm not finished with the layout yet.

I am almost all out of sea pearls in my leftover pile as you can tell...

Thank you Bweaves and Parrot Lady. Beaders secret in aqua is a favorite of mine as well, aqua color in general accually. I have used aqua with my green akoya and white south sea rope and with silver tahitians before I made it an ombre waverope with the tiny blue tahitians. I haven't ever put those aubergine tahitian studs together with those dyed akoyas, not that I can remembed anyway. Could have fooled me. Especially since those dyed akoyas shift in color, they sort of look undyed. Sneaky little pearls.

Last night when I was about to eat dinner I suddenly got the idea to write my name in morsecode...with pearls. The purple beadnucleated freshwater pearls as long tone(?) and the white keshis as short tone(?), the ones I just put on the beading board. Well I don't accually know the morsecode, so I Googled it. When Not-husband say down to eat I was happily rearranging pearls. "What are you doing" he said. "I write my name in morsecode", I said...and so forth. Today I wirewrapped it, with links between the letters, otherwise it would be hard to read it.

I also made a removable pendant with a big lobsterclasp, so that I can change it up a bit. One purple pearl would be T. Imagine the things I can write. The secret codes. Ok so I read a lot of mystery books when I grew up. I also wanted to be a pirate or at least find a buried treasure...

Did I mention, it's also pretty...

I did also order 7 carved skulls from augustus-collection today. In purple, blue, turquoise, green, yellow, orange and red. Sort of rainbow colors. Very piratey of me...the skulls not the rainbow...

What fun the Morse code is! And the plum thread is great with the dyed Akoya, which are such an unusual colour.
I have had sitting in my Etsy cart for a few days some Beaders Secret thread in Persian Turquoise from Bernadette’s shop, which looks like it will be a slightly brighter version of aqua. Also a couple of other colours a shade brighter than my usual favourites (candy for rose etc). I wasn’t sure if I really needed them, but seeing how the aqua thread has lifted those ripples, I’m going to order today, and use the brighter colours to re-knot a few strands I don’t wear much to see if the thread lifts the colour of the pearls/makes the strands more fun..

Thank you Bweaves, Red and SydK. The morse code necklace was so fun to make. SydK, some new tread might accually make the strands more wearable for you. I know that using the wrong tread has big impact at least. I tried plum with those drop ripples and it looked like the tread had gotten dirty. I once used gold with my vintage akoyas and golden south sea wavestrand (the one with the shorter waves) and it didn't look good. I had to reknot it with ivory. The right tread can enhance the pearls and make them even prettier. Sometimes it's just hard to know which tread to use. I hesitated about aqua with the ripples first and almost used gold first. I did a little test. The first one is with gold.

What fun, Charlotta! As always, thank you for the terrific photos and excellent examples. Even with small knots, thread color makes a subtle difference, especially with very shiny pearls which can pick up and reflect color around the drill holes.

My general feeling is that gold thread looks great with gold pearls. But otherwise it looks like the thread is old or dirty. I like the aqua because it always looks fresh, and it brings out the blues and greens in the nacre.
