$80 akoya strand

visited general pearl show room last weekend in okachimachi (jewelry district) in Tokyo.

their show room open 4 days a week only in the afternoons for 3 hours.

but I was lucky enough to go early because it took about 2 hours to select, pay and string. (so many customers!!)

Other people receive theirs few days later but they made hours on the day as we were tourists leaving in 2 days.

their selection was wide..mostly akoyas with some Tahitian and SSP with price range up to 5000usd per strand

As a souvenir, my friend and I purchased 80usd strand/ 7.5-8mm akoya

4 silver clasps were free but I chose one that was 45usd so I can wear the clasp in the middle.

with tax refund (for overseas tourists), I ended up paying about 120 for this beauty.

yes, it has some dimples and they are not all round but I love them!
