Not only is this the 10th annual ruckus, but it is the biggest one we have ever had - by a factor of two!

The Cultured Pearl Association of America (CPAA) has just announced the start of the 9th annual, international pearl design competition.



Driven by the new Executive Director Jennifer Heebner, some dramatic changes are happening within the competition this year. You can read all about them in the press release on the CPAA's website and in this recent article in National Jeweler.

Notably, there will be a domestic and and international division this year. The competition will also separate...

The Swiss Gemmological Institue of Basel, Switzerland, has recently released a new online research library covering research they've done of the last few decades. Though often very academic in nature, there are plenty of articles and presentations about pearls that are not available elsewhere online.

The 2018, Las Vegas Couture show officially kicked off today at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas, and through all the hustle and bustle, I managed to snap a few pieces of pearl eye candy.
