Why are Tiffany & Co keshi pearls so expensive?

Why are Tiffany's keshi pearl pieces SO expensive?
Just the Tiffany mark-up?

Tiffany doesn't give a lot of info, do they. Appears there is just under a half carat (0.48) diamonds, some value there and the platinum chain. Can't see how many keshi ( 3?) there are, but only 16 inches long? The keshi would have less value than either the diamonds or the platinum chain. And a very large mark up, yikes!

I like Tiffany, and you certainly will get what you pay for...that said, can you find something similar for much less money.
