Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

Visiting Dad today in a mix of different types of pearls that I normally wouldn't think of wearing together.

Japanese akoya pearl ring with opal doublet from OceanRhyme. Real Kasumi and amethyst earrings from Kojima Pearl. Chinese freshwater pearl pendant from Kojima Pearl. This was originally dark purple, and faded to lavender with green overtones. It's still a very pretty pearl, but it's not the chocolate plum color from the original photos. Custom tin-cup necklace with Sea of Cortez keshi pearls and tourmalines designed between me and Hisano at Pearl Paradise. Hisano took my ideas and made them better, and then brought them to life.

BW, your Sea of Cortez lariat turned out amazing! What a great mix and match of pearls as it is very cohesive.

Pearls and turquoise are my two favorites and today this is a mash up of the two. The keshi and tiny turquoise are from Kojima. The other is turquoise heishi that I strung with keshis. The earrings are FWP and sleeping beauty cabachons with findings from Riogrande.

Thanks Pearl-Whites. I'm really pleased with how the SoC necklace turned out. It has no clasp. I just pop it over my head. I didn't see a point of having a clasp if I was never going to use it.

Also, I LOVE pearls with turquoise and yellow gold. I think turquoise looks so much better with yellow gold than it does with silver. I never liked turquoise until I saw it set with yellow gold. And then when I saw it set with pearls as well, I was hooked.

Yesterday was so hot, so I went very lightweight. Carved Tahitian pearl and prehistoric shark's tooth from Kamoka Pearl. This is a great summer necklace. Mismatched Tahitian studs, also from Kamoka.

Visiting Dad today in BBAs. Blue baroque akoya pearls from Takahashi Pearl and Pearl Paradise. Bird ring has Tahitian pearls, from SeaBeauty Shop. BBAs are not actually blue. I'm also mixing white gold and yellow gold metals, because I love the look of 2 color and 3 color gold.

BW, Such gorgeous blues and so summery with the linen. What a collection!

Today we headed to a matinee and I had a chance to dig out some favorites. This is a multicolored Tahitian strand from Amsterdam Pearls (Cees) strung on teal Serafil from Patricia Saab on Etsy. The faceted Tahitian drops are from Eliko Pearls on findings from Riogrande. The photos don’t do the color justice.

Pearly-Whites, I know what you mean about the camera not capturing all the colors of the pearls. Those faceted pearls are so cool.

Did I overdo it? I think I might have overdid it today. Dyed freshwater pearls, jade, and various other gemstone beads. All from Kojima Pearl. I love mismatched earrings.

Visiting Merrily today and meeting DEX the supermodel cat for the first time in person.

Freshwater feather pearls from Kojima Pearl. Sea of Cortez keshi tin-cup necklace in a custom design from Hisano Shepherd of Pearl Paradise. Sea of Cortez ring. Pearl from Douglas at Perlas del Mar de Cortez, and ring setting from Pearl Paradise. Tahitian pearl memory wire bracelet, and akoya pearl and opal doublet ring from OceanRhyme. Faux pearl sheep brooch was a gift from my friend Merrily, who rooms with DEX the supermodel cat. AND, faux pearls on my jeans, from Driftwood Jeans.

Taking some of my pearls for a trip to the opera today to see Ariadne auf Naxos by Richard Strauss at Glyndebourne, it’s an opera festival which happens annually throughout the summer, always nice to bump into familiar faces and catch up with friends. My partner is one of the principals in the London Philharmonic Orchestra here in London.
