Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

Ennui, I don’t hesitate to rework or take apart pearl jewelry that I don’t wear and that I don’t particularly like any more. Tastes and lifestyle change over time.

BW, such beautiful blues and no one does mismatched earrings better than you.

Pearlylibrarian, anything you put on that gorgeous youthful neck is stunning. Everytime I take a selfie on my 70 year old neck I want to call a plastic surgeon!

I often wear and travel with synthetic or artificial pearls. As anything with a low pH can damage cultured pearls due to their truly organic content, pool and hot tub chemicals, perfume and some sunscreens and make up can etch cultured pearls sometimes a less expensive alternative is more worry free. Majorica, Swarovski, Erwin Pearl have some nice “fakes” that may be more conducive to an active lifestyle. One of my favorite pearlpendants to travel with and forget about is made by Skagen.

Today a summery combination of freshwater baroque pearls (Kong’s—Etsy) strung with rainbow sapphires that was an inexpensive bracelet from Etsy. The pendant is made from a loose freshwater pearl from Kojima pearls with three diamond peg inserts from Gempacked and a bail from Riogrande. Freshwater pearl drops on hoop earrings.

Pearly Whites, I hear ya. I'm contemplating a neck lift, too, just for showing off pearls.

Dyed blue freshies today, with jade and gemstone beads. All from Kojima. I love mismatched earrings.

I’m fixated on rosebuds because of their organic shapes. A necklace of 10-12 mm rosebuds on brown silk and earrings with rosebuds, copper nugget pearls, keshi and large Chinese ripples. All assembled by me. Also, a new bracelet from Kojima with these fat, sorta angular teardrops that make perfect worry beads.

MintyFresh: I've never cared for rosebuds before, but you've changed my mind. Yours are gorgeous.
I can understand that! Rosebuds are quite irregular and many are flat on one side, which is a bit of a bother. My approach was to order 2 strands and then pick out the ones I liked best. I'll integrate the others into variegated pearl necklaces.

I really love that whimsical, little green leaf hanging off the side of the necklace. Like a tiny fairy alighted on your pearls and then forgot their hat.
