High quality, cultured akoya pearls. Earrings are Hanadama studs from Pearl Paradise. Top necklace was bought by my Mom when I was born. The pearls themselves are probably 70 years old. The middle necklace was bought by my Mom in the 1980s or 90s, so they are around 30 to 40 years old. The bottom strand are Blue Lagoon pearls that were a gift to my Aunt Love, but she never wore them. She sold them to me around 30 years ago. The luster tells you that these pearls all have thick pearl nacre. I love how these 3 necklaces nest together.

Thanks again to Hisano for fixing my long Kojima Tahitian keshi tin-cup necklace that I broke. The first clasp I picked (small orbit) really did not work when turning this long tin-cup into a double strand necklace. So I asked Hisano to replace it with a square push clasp that is designed for double strands, and it works better. It's what I should have picked to start with. Worn with my Jurassic Time Traveler carved Tahitian pearl and prehistoric shark's tooth pendant and Bali earrings from Kamoka.

Green for me today. Souffle' pearl earrings stuffed with reclaimed emeralds and teeny tiny seed pearls by little h (Hisano Shepherd of Pearl Paradise). Endless necklace of emeralds, jade, multicolored sapphires, and freshwater pearls by Kojima Pearl.

Thanks so much, BWeaves and Mary-Contrary! BWeaves, I’ve always liked purple and green together. Mary-Contrary, what an amazing thrift find!

I made another tin cup necklace with some of my loose Akoya pearls from Takahashi. This one is spaced a little further apart, and includes some of the smaller Akoya that I have not had in the past. Wearing it with my original colorful tin cup. I bought the little MOP flower earrings while shopping in Tokyo and added some jackets I made.

I love your colorful akoya tin-cup, JEG. I'm a little jealous that I can't do wire wrapping. I tried it, but I'm crap at it. I admire anyone who can do it. I love tin-cups, and I LOVE colorful, especially blue akoyas.

Today, I'm wearing a classic 9mm Hanadama studs from PP. I got my ears pierced because I saw a photo of Meryl Streep in The Deer Hunter and she was wearing her own pearl studs, and I loved the look.

New pearl necklaces from Kojima. Dyed freshwaters with various gemstone beads and jade dangles. Pendant is also freshwater, and I think dyed, from Kojima. Earrings are natural color, mismatched Tahitian dangles from Kamoka. These pearl earrings go with almost everything I own. They're giving my black and white Tahitian studs a run for their money.

When the newest necklace arrived a couple days ago, Greg did something he's never done before. He put it on! And then he wouldn't smile for the "blackmail photo" as he called it. I love a man in pearls.

Something different today. Turquoise and natural white Hanadama akoya pearls from Pearl Paradise. Earrings from OceanRhyme. Vintage Native American turquoise necklaces from Goold's Dept. Store. The tubular necklace is made by cutting disks of turquoise, threading them together, and then rolling them to sand down the outside to a perfectly smooth tube. The back of the necklace is wrapped in sinew.

I usually wear my favorite sterling silver bell pendant on a 24" wheat chain, but yesterday I tried it on this FW pearl necklace that I strung years ago. Happily, the bail was wide enough.

Thanks BWeaves! Wire-wrapping projects have added to my collection exponentially. I find the pieces lighter and easier to wear as well.

Pretty combinations! Adding the turquoise and gems adds different dimensions in colors we can’t bring out in pearls.

Pearl Dreams, I always love when I find bails that will slide over small pearls. I love pearl chains.

Those purples are stunning, especially with the hints of electric blue. (No, spell check, not puppies, but purple puppies would be cool.)

The necklace sparkles like crazy, but it's impossible to capture that in a photo.
