Thanks, BWeaves! I love bubbles, too!:giggle:

Several years ago, when I wanted to learn how to wire-wrap, I decided to make a continuous chain so I could keep practicing on one piece. I used base metal, faux pearls, and a mix of beads. I’ve been wanting to remake the piece using real pearls and nicer wire, and finally got around to re-creating the necklace.

The original necklace was my first attempt at learning how to wire-wrap. I took the baroque Akoya rope apart to use for the remake. I bought these pearls at an Intergem show a long time ago.

The remake using the baroque Akoya pearls and changing out a few of the beads, plus a little improvement in my wire-wrapping skills after some years of practice. Wearing it with my necklace made of random vintage Akoya from PacificPearlsUS.

you always look so smart and stylish ,, you do have 'the eye' ! love your remake and of course all the gorgeous pearls you wear !

Visiting Dad today. Wilma Flintstones! Necklace is made of 13.5 mm freshwaters from Kojima, with the luster of akoyas. Earring drops are from Pearls of Joy, worn on Mom's diamond earrings. Mom's "sapphire" ring. It's actually an early tanzanite, when they were more interested in colors that mimicked more expensive gems.

Thanks so much for the very kind compliments, Katbran! Much appreciated…

BWeaves, that pearl with the planet story behind it is perfect for you!

SurfnSci, you are an expert at sourcing pearls to create your own pieces!

Amazing pearls everyone❤️❤️❤️ Pearl therapy indeed!!!

I have been on ban island for forever by now 😅so in order to have some new pieces I play with my pearls and do some remakes. Funny that you posted the spice necklace today jeg! It has long been my holy grail in pearls+gemstones combination❤️

Here are my latest remakes. I extended my labradorite/pyrite necklace with pearls from Druzy, cmw and Pearl House and made a companion pyrite piece to it with colorful cmw circles that used to be in a bracelet. These two pieces got quite a lot of wear and I think they will stay like this for a while.

Wow, those are really lovely pieces, Jeg!!! (and thank you for your kind words:giggle: )

Eolian, so good to see you, and your beautiful pearls - your new "remake strands" are gorgeous!

Thank you @SurfnSci ! It has been a while;-) I always love seeing your pieces too! The new akoyas are absolutely stunning and that ombre is a dream (for my post ban island life)❤️ Knowing that you have slowly collected and placed all the pearls on the strand by yourself makes it just so much more special!

Kasumi and ripples. Real Japanese Kasumi earrings with amethysts from Kojima. Pastel ripples (Chinese freshwater pearls) from Kojima. Intense ripples (Chinese freshwater pearls) from Pacific Pearls. I only keep the pastel ripples so I can hook the two strands together into an opera length necklace. Although sometimes, a peachy ripple necklace is exactly what I want.

After last night's PP Live event, I'm in a blue mood. My first strand of blue baroque akoyas from PP. They are 10 mm and have a wonderful soap bubble luster that my camera can't capture. These pearls really glow. They're also the palest of my BBAs. They're knotted on sky blue Serafil from Pattye. I used to think these 10 mm were huge, and then PSS set in. My earring drops are dyed freshwater pearls worn on my own earring hoops, from Kojima. BBA ring from Takahashi in Japan. I can't wait to see my BBA purchases from last night. I went a bit nuts when I saw those blues.

@BWeaves your claims last night were a dream! Congrats! Looking forward to more pics of them.

And now for something completely different. Obviously dyed, top drilled, cheap, bead store, Chinese freshwater pearls. I bought these pearls to use as dangles on the fringes of my handwoven shawls. But I loved the way they squiggled, and nested, and flipped around on their temporary strings, so I decided to make them into a necklace. I added a couple of stick pearls. I loved stick pearls, but they made terrible necklaces. They flipped around too much. The round, pinkish lavender pearls might be natural color, but they are cheap freshies, too. They were leftover from some beading project I didn't keep. The endless knots are sterling silver, and I may have some glass seed beads in there, too.

I've had a lot of compliments on this necklace from fellow handweavers with requests of, "Can I copy that?" Sure, I don't care.

The 9mm blue baroque akoyas from Flower Jem are still my current staple. Today with some teeny tiny white freshwater keshi (or seed pearls? Is there a difference?) on a choker, a white Edison on a bangle, and a baby porcelain GSS on a little curb chain.
