Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

Thanks so much, CatMom! You are so sweet!:giggle: Have you been doing any wire-wrapping projects lately???

Surfnsci, your new keshi chain looks perfect!

The necklaces do look like cool ice, BWeaves, and they were definitely meant to be together.

Akoya keshi necklace from Kojima with a SS pendant from PP. SS keshi studs from a PP/Takahashi live event, with Akoya jackets and a tin cup I wrapped with pearls from Takahashi.

Beautiful, jeg! I haven't done any more wire wrapping since the earrings I made.

Vintage cultured Japanese akoya pearls from the 1950s. My mother bought these when I was born, so they're older than I am. The necklace is NOT Mikimoto, but is definitely Miki quality. My mother had a spare Mikimoto clasp (as you do, thanks Mom!). Vintage Chanel purse from 1994. My mother had very good taste. Choker necklace pearls are 5.5mm.

Nana (my mother's mother) in the pink dress and her sister. Nana is wearing her cultured akoya pearl necklace and earrings. She wore them daily for decades. I inherited them when she died (when I was 20) and I wore them daily for decades. 10 years ago, I asked Pearl Paradise to replace the low quality akoyas with Freshadamas and reuse Nana's akoya and diamond clasp. The Freshadamas are high quality, non-bead nucleated, Chinese freshwater pearls. 100% pearl nacre. I liked the new version so much that I asked Pearl Paradise to add a second strand of Freshadamas. The clasp can handle 3 strands, but I think 2 look great since the pearls are larger (8mm) than the original pearls (7mm).

The purses are Nana and her sister's dance purses from the 1920s. One purse has pearls and rhinestones, and the other purse only has rhinestones.

My blue baroque akoya ring is from Takahashi in Japan.

Wearing my hanadama pearls at home, to keep them hydrated 🥰

I feel I need some pearls of "less" ($) value, I am so afraid of wearing my Hanadama very often outside 🥲
Too much sun, too much sweat, no perfume, no lotion etc

Lycat: I'd wear those Hanadamas everyday! They're gorgeous. Love your earrings, too. But I know what you mean about less expensive pearls.
Yes, I’m trying now. I work from home, so I don’t usually go to the office, but I want to enjoy dressing up as if I did—and even wear my pearls at home. They’re so beautiful, it’s a shame to keep them stored away in a box!

I’m also looking for shops in Italy where I could buy more jewelry, but I’ll probably wait until I travel to the Philippines to get some and also Better prices probably (?).

Thanks so much, CatMom! I hope you try more pearly projects, but you are probably busy with that gorgeous embroidery you do!

Love all your nostalgic pieces, BWeaves! You have some wonderful family heirlooms. And how great to see all the pearls with “new” eyes. Glad you are doing well.

That’s a beautiful strand lycat. Enjoy wearing it… wherever!

Ombre SS rope from PP, Akoya bracelet from Kojima, and a SS keshi tin cup I wrapped.

JEG, love your goldens! But I'm feeling blue today. I can see blue so well now. The blues have become really intense looking to me after the cataract surgery. Vietnamese blue baroque akoyas from PP. Chinese freshwater pendant from Kojima. Mismatched baroque Tahitian earrings from Kamoka.

I'm digging the blues, bweaves! I sometimes think I have enough of them but they really do vary so much!

Jeg, the ombre strand is just literal perfection.

Lycat, what a stunning classic strand! It definitely deserves to be worn often.

I tried out a new (to me) etsy vendor and two of the things I got was this fireball pearl and enhancer that I put together.

I put it on my much-loved tiny bead nuked freshwater strand from one of PP's live events that I can't insert a picture of because it keeps saying the file is too large.

Pearl therapy. I needed a pick me up, so I picked up this necklace. I bought a jade, emerald, yellow and blue sapphire, yellow tourmaline, and freshwater pearl endless rope from Kojima. I'm kinda loving a mix of gemstones and pearls lately. Feather pearl earrings from Kojima. I wouldn't wear this necklace with this t-shirt, but I needed to model it quickly, as you do.

P.S. I'm doing PT, physical therapy, right now. I've decided that PT really stands for PEARL Therapy. It makes me feel so much better!
