Should I keep this South Sea necklace?

This necklace is supposed to be an estate South Sea necklace. The pearls are described as round 11.3 to 13.7mm with a rose overtone. The clasp is 14k white gold. It was purchased online, gifted to me, and can be returned.

Does the description seem accurate? Is this worth $3,000? I think the necklace is beautiful - my concern is did someone overpay? Should I wait for something with fewer blemishes? Or maybe better quality on smaller pearls? I understand cost varies significantly.

The last three pictures were taken in natural light.

It has a lot of surface flaws that interfere somewhat with luster.
A round SSP necklace of this size would cost a lot more if better quality. I think you realize this. Reading between the lines, you don't love the quality-- am I right?
If so, $3000 is too much for a necklace one doesn't love.

Quality, size, price. Which is most important to you?
Which is least important?
Go by that.

Don't anchor on this particular necklace. Ask yourself: if you didn't have to decide about this specific necklace, what would you want?

How does it make you feel when you put it on? Do you feel beautiful? Or do you want to take it off and wear something else?

The price is indicative of quality; you could easily spend $3K on a pendant. Pearl prices keep going up, if you wait for something better you may find you can't afford it.
I can't advise on pearl size. Some of us prefer small and some prefer large.

The luster is lovely, the pearls are near-round, and the size is on the larger size. There are fish bites, but they are subtle. It wasn’t an amazing bargain, but that price is well in line with what similar strands sell for at jewelers.

The real question is, do you love it? Does the rose overtones compliment your skin tone? Does the size feel good, or do they feel huge - or do they feel tiny?! (Hey, Pearl shrinkage syndrome is real!) Do you feel like the fishbites add character and remind you of the beauty of the organic world - or do they make you feel like you compromised too much in the wrong way?

$3000 is a great price if it’s pearl-love - and a terrible price if you’re just settling.
