Please help me identify these pearls. They’re vintage, likely from anywhere between 1950-1970. Belonged to my great-aunt. The clasp is stamped STERLING. They’re about 8-9mm in size. Feels nice and cold in my hand. Super shiny. Looks like an iridescent cream color but I feel like I’m seeing a very slight pinkish hue as well. Some look very round and some look baroque. The strand was broken by my cousin when she yanked it out of the jewelry box my aunt had it in. It’s definitely gritty but the grittiness somewhat feels smooth, if that makes any sense. Please can anyone identify these?

They are baroque akoya pearls. 
If you would like to wear them, they should be cleaned and restrung. To clean them, put them in a bowl of distilled water in which you've swished a little mild soap. After 15 minutes or so, wipe them clean with a soft cloth, then rinse them in more distilled water and lay them on a towel to dry for about 24 hours. This should remove accumulated surface grime so you can get a better idea of their luster.
We have tutorials and videos on how to restring them-- see the Lowly Beaders' Club section. It's not hard, and will save money if you don't have to pay someone to do it.
