Hi, i have a couple of projects to do. My friends keep giving me restringing to do for them, which is quite annoying, because once they give it to me they pester me frequently for the finished goods. Stressful I think.

Anyhow, first, my project. I have some blue akoya Fw pearls from PP, 7mm roughly, and I need restringing silk for them. I also have white FW pearls a friend's sister gave me they are white 8or 9 mm pearls.

I also want to mke some stretch "thread" or "elastic" as I have some beads I want to make stretch bracelets, beads about 8 mm. I guess I need some French wire too. I'm wondering what is the averting best thickness or size for the elastic or silk, as I am not sure.

Any advice or links to previous posts or online vendors) I've looked around) is appreciated.

Thanks!

Really hating auto correct! I need to figure out best thickness for elastic plasticity thread to use to make stretch bracelets, average size you gals usually use.thanks.

Mitsucats, Although I have not yet tried this material, I understand it is a good substitute for silk and the color would be just right with the blue akoyas; this is Pattye's Etsy shop listing:

She also carries white: http://www.etsy.com/listing/150499690/white-silk-like-beaders-secret-knotting?ref=shop_home_active

I myself use white 20# Power Pro thread, which I buy from Artbeads.com. Artbeads also has the gimp/French Wire and no doubt the elastic as well.

thanks for the reply, i'll check that out. I am still waiting on my blue pearls. I ordered them a few weeks ago, but I in Canada, just hope the border is done playing with them soon! I will also look for some plastic thread to string some stretch bracelets. thanks!
