Aloha,

I am trying to find out a little more about a Mikimoto (5) pearl Brooch that I found at a Garage Sale. It has the following markings on it M and S. It appears to be in it's original packaging on the outside and inside.

Sorry the photo's are a little hard to see. I would like to know what this may be worth and how old could it be. Mahalo, Julie

Try again with the photos and please show the back too. Did you use the macro setting? The flower? Also crop so the pin is large in relation to the background.

Ebay may be selling something similar.

Aloha Caitlin, I cannot seem to get very good pics with the camera at work. I will take some tonight and send them to you. Thanks.

Here are some better photo's, also showing the original box that must be old that the red velvet Jewelry box was inside. Appreciate any help you can offer regarding this piece..

I am no expert on mikimoto in any sense, but it looks like it could be one to me. I don't know who is the most knowledgeable on Mikis here. For its market value, try searching for mikimoto pins or brooches on Ebay. That should give you an idea and maybe there will be one like that.

Thank you Caitlin and David....I spoke to a jeweler and because I would never wear a pin/Brooch he is going to make it into a Pendant and I am going to wear it proudly since it only cost me $5.00 at a garage sale. Mahalo to you both and keep up the good work on this site. Julie.....

What a pretty piece! It is great that you are creatively thinking outside the red velvet box to turn it into a pendant. I'd love to see the finished piece, especially if you can photograph it on your neck. If you're concerned about showing your face, just crop the photo to show only your neck and the jewelry.
