I finally strung my 7.5-8.5mm oval exotics!

I also take apart pieces I've made which I'm bored with and redo them for a new look.

I'm finding these highly wearable. The colors go with everything.

Love it, Pearl_dreams.
Love the colours, love the lustre, love the classic style.
Thanks for the extra photo.
It's a fabulous strand.

Gosh!
Can it get any better than that? Congrats, Pearl_Dreams! To have a whole strand like that and in that size, Yum!!! My Exotics (smaller round ones) from that offer are still unstrung, so lovely, and guilt is washing over me------------look at those green overtones--I just have to comment again------

Thank you both!

I wore these when I went out today (looking for a handbag) and was surprised at how the colors popped under the store's fluorescent lights -- probably because of the blue/green tones of the lighting.

Pattye, did you wait to string yours because you, too, weren't quite sure what you wanted to do with them? Or do you have a plan but just haven't found the time yet? Those smaller round exotics had unbelievable metallic colors judging from Jeremy's photos!

*drooling at the memory*

Hi Pearl Dreams.

I have a necklace with the 6-7 round exotics. In my opinion the colours of the round ones aren?t as intense as in the ovals... Not sure if they have the same or less metallic luster as the ovals though. I?m not great at judging if a pearl looks metallic or not.

Wow. It's great you can find something that complements the exotics. I like the blue and metallic gold the best.

Congratulations on converting your daughter. Mine is not there yet. Although she is still thinking about single tahitian on leather anklet/bracelet. On the other hand, my husband has already bought 2 baroque Tahitian leather pieces from Jeremy already.

Resistance is futile. She will be assimilated.

My husband wears a 'peacock' dyed CFW pearl that looks remarkably like a Tahitian on a leather cord (and he plans to get a real Tahitian.) Men look really good in Tahitians, don't they!

Hi Pearl_Dreams,

weren't quite sure what you wanted to do with them?

Exactly!! Not quite sure about adding some gemstones, but have some smaller pearls they look pretty awesome with, until I start playing with stringing---hard to tell--don't want to cut the impact of them in all their glory!
But I will post photos when finished, I promise!

Have you ever thought of using wire to make them into drops, suspended from a gold or silver chain? It would let you space them out and would create a bigger look.

You could reserve some for earrings and even make a bracelet along the same lines with pearl charms dangling from the chain.

For the necklace it would actually be an advantage that they're not so large-- they would lie relatively flat against your skin.

Hi Pearl_dreams,
Did you use Beadalon wire on the earring charms too?

No, I used headpins-- sterling and gold filled. I clipped off the heads. But if you have wire you could use that instead.

The 49 ply Beadalon is too flexible and springy for that.

:) Thanks, Kaywal!

I'm on a roll! I've spent the afternoon making an green apatite and silver beads necklace and matching earring charms.

Last night I took a silver figaro necklace I wasn't using and wire wrapped to it drops of odd, wrinkly baroque peach and lavender CFWP and drop-shaped dyed peacock CFWP and made matching silver earrings with the same peacock pearls.

And I still have a few other things I want to string this weekend! Pictures of everything to follow in another thread-- I'm overdue to post in the Lowly Beaders Club. :)
