Pearl Pendant 13.8/17mm ..silver 925 the same pearl in different light positions
Do you think it’s a genuine Tahitian pearl and was $17 worth it?

I also bought this edison 15.5/17mm from the same seller at the same price
I understand that the quality of both pearls isn’t considered high grade, but I actually like the visible imperfections. To me they make the pearls look more natural and unique rather than perfectly polished.

thank you

I'm not sure about the first pearl. It could be a Tahitian but I've also had dyed freshwaters that looked like that.
The second pearl looks like an Edison.

I like the pink a lot! Prices of both silver & gold are record highs right now. There are also tariffs on imports. So the price of the pendants could reflect both silver price & tariff price, not actually pearl price. $17 isn't much, but I think I paid about that on Etsy 2 years ago for a drilled Tahitan...Some pearl sellers have silver bails too. So for probably $30-40 you could get the Tahitian pearl you want & findings & epoxy.

Thanks for the insight! It was actually $17 after the 24% VAT for my country. Etsy usually doesn’t help much for me because the shipping costs are quite high, so the final price ends up much higher.
These are actually some of my first pearls purchases — I don’t have any experience yet and I’m just starting to get into the world of pearls.

I think they're very nice to first pearls. You can see if you wear them often before you start adding earrings and strands and ropes and bracelets and Whoops! down the rabbit hole. :giggle:

No matter your country...people often get rid of pearls as they go out of fashion...it may take looking. But used anything is not as expensive..you just want to get to see pearls...so if you can go where they sell used items...just to look... or even new pearls...just to look. High end jewelry stores and look at their pearls to see what kind they are selling...write down prices...write down freshwater or Saltwater (If you can tell) ask to take photos of some. Post here to get feedback. Go to cheaper jewelry stores...what pearls are there? If you can ask to look closely at the pearls. Take Pearls As One Course...someone will have a coupon. But get to look at pearls!
