As the title - they may not even be pearls as such.
They don't appear to be faux - gritty on the teeth and irregular shapes.
Beautiful, silvery-white/grey colour with rainbow irridescence.
They are flat on the backs, not rounded.
I just love them, but have no idea what they are, so any info. will be much appreciated.
Thank you to all.

Hi Sueki,

That is a really pretty pendant! Is it set in silver? What sizes are the pearls? Are they pretty large, or on the smaller size? It is nicely done.
Somehow the underside of the pearls like maybe the flatter side of freshwater or keishi pearls. I see a couple of black spots, pits that could indicate that a whole pearl, irregular in shape obviously, was used.
Does the back side look like m-o-p to you?

Mabes have lovely colors.

so many pearls, so little time

Thanks for the info. Jeremy, much appreciated.
And Pattye, the pearls range in size from 10mm. by 15mm. to 8mm. by 10mm.
Yes, the pendant is silver. The black spots - one of those is dirt - sorry, didn't think to clean it before taking the photos.
The other spot looks like it is inside the pearl or mother of pearl.
The backs are uneven for the most part, with a smoother, central area.
Having had a closer look at the backs, I can see that they are not flat, but flattish - or not rounded as the fronts are.
Looking through a magnifier, I can see that they appear to be whole pearls, more rounded on the fronts, flatter on the backs, and one of them, it is almost as if I can see through the pearl into the centre where there appears to be a bead.
When holding it up to the light I can see a darker, round bead-shape.
Forgive my ignorence - the only pearls that I own ( so far ) are inherited and presumably akoya, so I don't recognise anything that isn't round and smooth !
And the only Mabe pearls that I have seen are almost perfect half-moons.
Obviously, I need to get out more.....
Or not, and spend more time reading these forums.
Thank you both for your answers so far, and sorry to have waffled on.
