Loose conch pearls
 
Some would not call these pearls because they do not have iridescent nacre. They are more porcelaneous in nature. Nacre grows in different patterns. Gastropod nacre grows first in columns, then platelets grow across to fill in the open space between columns.
 
They are mostly calcium carbonate. Very different and not so different!
 
Yum! I am constantly amazed by these each time I see them.
