I found a few of these amazing looking vintage beads, I believe they are some kind of pearl & I also have some in a red that are very similar! I have no clue!
Hey! Finally getting around to taking pictures! this necklace has white & off white colored pearls at bottom and then smaller pink stones or pearls of some kind?! they are gritty like pearls but i have no clue! Any help would be amazing! Thanks! Can you please post more photos-- more of the beads, too--on a white background (a paper towel is good). In focus, no flash, please.
Also try rubbing 2 of the same beads together; what do you feel? Smooth, or gritty?
Also, beads that are red are either dyed pearls or not pearls.
I agree. They look like dyed beads. To me the pink beads look like dyed quartz. I see dye concentrations and none of the banding one typically sees with rhodochrosite beads.
The pink beads are meant to look like coral. You’d have to get an RI reading or put them under a microscope to be certain if they are imitations.Hey!
