Thanks for sharing this great information, Vincent! The updated Pearl Lab course microradiographs were an enormous help in understanding the subtle differences in the internal structure. Having Akira Hyatt as an instructor was a big plus, as well. ;)

Where can you get NBC South Sea pearls? Who is raising them where, and where do they go to market?
 
Thank you for your leads Vincent... I have downloaded the files and crunching away at the info. I am writing a small article on Natural Cortez Pearls for our blog (and have much information to share on the subject) and one of the articles in GIA's site is about a "Large Natural Blister Pearl"... well, that shell is a Rainbow Lipped Oyster (Pteria sterna) so this article will be useful as well... Thank you again :)
