Threading tiny 2.5 mm freshwater pearls for a choker necklace. I plan on hanging that long pendant from it. I'm never doing this again. Even with the magnifier light, it's challenging when half my fingers can't feel the pearls. Where's PSS when you need it? (PSS = Pearl Shrinkage Syndrome. When you can't get your pearls BIG enough, so you keep going bigger!) Pearls from Kojima at Pearls by the Bay.

I only knotted the last 3 pearls on each end, and then glued the last knot, so hopefully it won't come undone.

I wasn't sure how long I wanted the necklace, so I didn't have Sarah string it at PBTB. I kept wearing the pendant on different length chains to get a feel for how Iong I wanted it to dangle. I decided on 16 inches, but I think it might be closer to 17" with the clasp.

I know the feeling, BWeaves. I’ve made several pearl chains with tiny rice-sized pearls and besides taking a while to thread, they fling off the fingers and then I can’t find where they went. Your necklace turned out really pretty, though!

1. I will share as soon as they arrive.

2. I have 2 pairs of Pompeii earrings. One with white pearl drops and one with dyed silver blue pearl drops. I couldn't make up my mind, so I bought both, and I love them both.


JEG: OMG, the tiny pearls flinging off my fingers!!! I have no idea where some of them ended up. It makes me feel better that I'm not the only one that happens to. This was supposed to be a double strand necklace. But between the pearls I had to discard because the drill hole was too small to fit my beading needle, and the pearls that flung off my fingertips into the ether, I lost several inches of pearls.
