GIA certified seller insists that these are Tahitians, despite the obvious egg/potato shaped pearls. Size is also not as common, these gotta be 6mm? 7mm?

Confirming they are in fact FWP.

I don’t know much about pearls and I stand by these being dyed freshies.
Also, GIA has multiple education courses. To become a graduate gemologist, you do not need to do anything associated with pearls.
Someone who’s “GIA Certified” could have exactly zero professional education surrounding them.

Thank you! She’s named Halti, she’s a member of my doll collection. Those strands actually belong to her, not me.

They are dyed Chinese freshwater pearls. They are not Tahitian pearls. They aren't even close to similar.

The certificate for taking the grading lab looks real, but the business card ... not so much.

I don't see any listing online for House of Silvestri Appraisals. If it were an actual Inc, that would exist. AND appraisals is spelled wrong on the card.

There is no such thing as GIA Certified Appraiser, in fact GIA explicitly says they don't certify appraisers or provide appraisal training and warns against anyone calling themselves "GIA Certified."

The stated credential is Graduated Gemologist. The actual diploma is Graduate Gemologist.

Between AI and photoshop...anything can be made!!! Saw a favorite youtuber selling something on a youtube short, that I know he doesn't believe in...sure enough AI. One thing that has been stated here is that GIA and Gemologists are supposed to know Gems...there isn't that much about pearls..but those is obviously FW! I did know that before joining this forum or taking Pearls As One course (Which is it all about pearls!).

The certificate is dated 2006. The pearl industry has changed a lot in 20 years.
