Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

Beautiful Akoyas, SurfnSci!

I love the combinations, BWeaves! Love that dangly pendant!

The inner Tahitian necklace is from Kamoka, and the outer is from Maui Divers. Worn with earrings I wrapped.

JEG, I don't think I've seen your BBA ring before, or the dangle necklace. Love them. And I love what you did with the Fijian keshi.

I'm feeling BLUE today. The blue baroque Tahitian bird ring from SeaBeauty Shop. Dyed freshwater and akoya pearl earrings and necklaces with aquamarines are from Kojima Pearl. Worn with blue linen, of course.

WOW! So much fun to catch up on everyone’s pearly posts!🤗 Love all the great looks!

BWeaves, I’ve seen some of your gorgeous shawls, but how do you use your rope and strap-like projects?

Wearing a Japan Kasumi keshi necklace from Kojima, with earrings I wrapped with seashells from Sanibel Island.

What kind of little shells are these? So pretty!

Thanks MintyFresh! They are Augers and are easily found on different beaches.

Pretty colors BWeaves! Love the combinations. I think I’ve only taken a few photos of those pieces, but the necklace I’ve had since last summer, and the ring was from my visit to the Takahashi office in March.

Wearing a golden SS harvest strand from a PP Ruckus with earrings I wrapped.

I’m in loooooove 😍

This ring came up for sale in Japan and I snapped it in hours. It is Mikimoto, platinum Pt950 with a 12.6mm south sea pearl, it just arrived literally and I already can’t get enough of it. It was a lot cheaper than most preowned Mikimoto rings from Japan because the ring size is quite big for the average Japanese woman, this is a US size 6. I paid £843 ($1334USD) and it arrived in just a few days via DHL Express Worldwide.

Would that be a green or silver Tahitian or somewhere in between? I look at Tahitians and, unless it is very obvious, am often confused by the color designation.

You should be holding - and sipping - a classic martini or a gibson with that ring. Very art deco like something a Tamara de Lempicka subject might wear.

That's a beautiful pearl, so clean! I like the setting, too. Are they calling it South Sea or Tahitian? I like the platinum pistachio tones.

Hmm, it depends on the light, but in the light/sunlight the greens comes through.

I was actually a bit skeptical because the online photos showed it being much darker, so I’m definitely pleased it’s much better in person. I don’t think they are easy to photograph well actually.

Maybe I will pop out for an old fashioned to celebrate my find later 🍸 But for now I’ve only worn it out in my gym clothes to go food shopping and it looks glorious in the sunshine 😍

It seems like the industry has stepped away a bit from “Tahitian”, Mikimoto for example just calls them Black South Sea Pearls, but in their info pages they refer to them as being from the black-lipped oysters found only in French Polynesia.

TECS1990: Wow, Great ring. A size 6 sounds tiny to me, but I think UK sizes are different than US sizes.

I just got this ring from OceanRhyme. A 9 mm akoya pearl and an opal doublet. It's quite on the petite side compared to my usual taste in rings. The opal has a lot of red fire in the center. I hope being a doublet makes it a bit stronger than a solid opal, since I tend to bash my hands on things.

That’s lovely! I think opals and pearls really complement each other magnificently.
