"Social media has a theory that pearl earrings repel men.

Pearl jewelry often symbolizes beauty, class and sophistication. Now, for those exact views, single girls on TikTok are ditching the feminine pieces because they think wearing them is preventing them from meeting eligible bachelors.

To justify why today’s generation of men don’t know how to pursue women anymore, TikTok created the “pearl earring theory,” which is that women who wear this type of accessory are viewed as intimidating, expensive or high-maintenance — qualities that might “scare away” potential suitors."

Sigh.

Social media has a theory
It is well demonstrated by now that there is no such thing as a theory on social media. Only "alternative truths."

I have a theory: Social Media is effectively preparing us for living in the quantum universe where everything is true, everywhere, all at once.

Bull. I would have thought it was women who already owned diamonds who would be intimidating, not pearls.

Blackadder's pearl earring made Rowan Atkinson look sexy.

Keep wearing pearls and only date men who wear pearls.

Phew, good thing I'm married already. I have no intentions of ditching any of my pearls for anybody!

I think my husband is immune to this phenomenon anyway though since the first gift he gave me was pearl studs for Christmas.

I asked my husband if he noticed the earrings I wore on our first date. He said "Earrings? I assume you wore earrings, but that's only because I now know you almost always do."
