anyone else have one? (or with a south sea pearl). I would love to see some real life pics, or even of someone wearing it. I may have to pass up my freshadamas for this! I have the longest wish list on pp, its crazy!

Hello,

on a previous thread, we talked about giving credit to whom it is due..
Where does this wonderful pendant come from?

It?s a pendant from Pearl Paradise! They have a photo of it with a Golden South Sea pearl, if I remember correctly and you could get whatever You want (Tahitian, WSS..)

Amazing - luckykelley I was looking at this pendant before my China trip, and considered buying the finding and taking it with me - passed up though and opted for some diamond-set earring findings instead, which I had set with the most magnificent pair of golden south seas - if I ever take a decent photo of them, I will post it here, as they are truly gorgeous! BUT, ever since I got home, I've been thinking/lusting/dreaming about completing the set..... I think it is just a gorgeous setting, and would look fab either as pictured, or as I am envisaging, in yellow gold with a GSS - the wish list is just ridiculously long, and currently topped by the Kasumi strand... I never stop adding to it!

Good luck - you are becoming as seriously addicted as the rest of us here!

yep, it is indeed from pearl paradise. I was debating between this, and a simple pearl solitaire

It basically a matter of price, but If I am able to sell my hawaiian freshwater jewelry, then I will definitely get that pendant!!! I love it so much!!!

I like the solitaire myself, but I prefer clean, modern simple lines generally in jewelry. What sort of jewelry do you usually buy?

well, I think that they are both quite modern and simple. That is the kind of jewelry I buy as well. The one downside of the first pendant, is that it hides quite a bit of the pearl, and the solitaire I could get a larger pearl.... hmmm. It is a difficult decision.

Haha well in my fiance's eyes it should be out of the question to get either. I think it depends on your point of view ;)

Hmmm...then one strategy might be to get the costlier one now. The second one will seem like a bargain by comparison later.:D

Well I am going to be good and wait. I am going to try to sell my pearl jewelry from hawaii on ebay, I set a reserve so if it sells it will be a guilt free purchase!

Thanks
Good luck. Those are nice pearls and the settings are great also. I hope you can trade them in for something you really love.:)

Thanks. I don't know how good the odds are of selling them on ebay for that price, but its not really worth it to me to sell them for much less. We will see how it goes :)

Good luck with your ebay venture, luckykelleyk! The Hawaiin pieces are indeed very nice and might suit someone perfectly. Personally, I love the ring, but there are just too many other things on the wish list.

I do wear a pearl solitaire, and I love it (actually THEM, I have 2, one white gold with a large FW dyed black, and a yellow gold with white 14mm FW that I found recently). I enjoy wearing these even more than wearing my 1.8carat diamond solitaire (but please don't tell my husband, as he felt very special buying such a gorgeous piece for me). You see - suddenly your pearl wishes look very inexpensive! I have to say, I think you will get far more wear out of the solitaire - I wear mine when I just don't want to wear a full strand, or when what I'm wearing is a bit "busier" - a lovely, simple look. Still want the GSS in yellow gold version of the other, though!

Thanks! I think I would wear the solitaire more too. Im young (22) and a college student, so needless to say, Im usually not dressed up enough to wear a full strand. The solitaire is versatile for casual wear, and dressing up.

Just something to consider (and this may not be an issue at all), but the setting may be discontinued before you have a chance to purchase it. I have waited on too many things only to find what I want is no longer available. My vote is to purchase the more exotic/difficult to find piece to ensure you get it. A single pearl is always an option, the setting may not be.

Good luck with your Ebay sale.

Thank you! I already have 3 people watching it, which is a good sign. Unless its you guys :p

May I suggest that you consider stating, in your description section, what your reserve price is? (I won't be bidding.)

The topic of whether or not to state the reserve often comes up on eBay discussion boards, and overwhelmingly the advice given is that you are more likely to sell it if buyers know what your reserve is.

You are still protected from having to accept less than your reserve, and people often bid an item over the reserve. But many won't bid when the reserve is a secret.

Just a suggestion.:)
