Guess?

Mine's delivered but I won't get to see it till tomorrow night cos' I work out of town. My second order will arrive next Monday. Can't wait!

I got my first one. Priority mail in just 2 days. It is really lovely. Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to get these out!

I called today and am having my second one overnighted to San Francisco where I will be visiting through Mother's Day.

I am taking ALL my strung pearls and most of my loose pearls too. One sister in law is a beader who loves the CFWP like me and the other sis in law has ropes and ropes of akoyas dating back to the 30's and 40's. she has all the the hubbie's family pearls, the wretch, but I don't care anymore, because now I have ropes and ropes of AAA CFWP and I shall try to convert her. Heh, heh, heh, hers are wearing out and have to be replaced, one by one, heh, heh, heh!!!.:p

Ha, ha, Caitlin, you crack me up! Wait 'till they see your new freshwater baroques . . . .

I think I have a serious problem. I still want more when I'm obviously broke but I can't help browsing the pages over and over again. Why would I need so many freeforms? The ones I got are pretty similar and probably look bolder than these ones, but it doesn't stop the urge. The only thing stopping me is the fact I don't want to go into credit debt.

If only ...

Jeremy, if you put the freeforms left from this offer up with the June white freeforms would the prices be higher?

How many white strands were put up? I only remember 1 or 2. Too bad it's so labor-intensive. More color graduated multicolored strands like FWN-000-201 would have been lovely.

Well, I'm very pleased with my new strand. Just what I wanted for a more casual look than my traditional strands. I would feel comfortable wearing these with a t-shirt and jeans (and did so yesterday evening!)

The orient is quite noticeable. That great shimmering rainbow effect. They are also very lustrous, rather "blingy". I think a white strand of these baroque would stand in very nicely for a freshadama strand in a larger size (until budget allows you to purchase one of each!) From a distance of several feet, and a casual glance, the effect is similar to my 10-11 mm freshies.

Of course, now I'm having to resist the urge to purchase another in a different color!

The whites will fall in the same range, I believe. We have not had the time to even look at them yet, but the week is almost over.

Here is a shot of the "guess" akoya prior to my selection for that strand last week.

Jeremy, you tease!

Seriously, I've been meaning to ask: is there any way to tissue nucleate Akoya? Or is it just not technically/commercially feasible?

What will the price range be for the whites if you decide to offer them as a June special?

Oh, man - can't you just imagine running your fingers through those beautiful Akoyas while cackling maniacally? NCN indeed...

WOW! Those pearls look a little like the Sea of Cortez pearls. I wonder how many strands could be made from that basket of beauty? What is the average size of those guys?

If there was, Caitlin would have done it already.;)

Oh man, June is still so far away ... looks like there would be both rounds and baroques.

I think what's going to happen tonight is I will look at my new freeform baroques, convince myself it's a sound investment to get a couple more and order it despite the fact I probably wouldn't wear 5 strands very often. There is a true pink one I particularly like. Hope it's still available tonight.

I'm now going to get some freshadamas in pink and lavender as well once the sets come back in stock.

This is exactly how I think of my purchases - an investment!

OMG!!!!!!!

I've been on vacation for 2 weeks and made a promise to stay away from the computer. And look at all I missed!!!!!!!! Now I'm even more stressed than I was prior to my vacation...

Those Akoya baroques are haunting me - how does one get in on the private offering?!

Jeremy,

what prices are we talking about when these blue Akoyas are being offered?
I sincerely hope these will be offered to us members on the forum before offering them to other pearl lovers?

Tissue-nuke of akoya? Not really feasible... It is already happening in a way. Those are the akoya keshi.

That big basket likely ranged from 7mm up to 11mm with a few odd pieces included as well. Quite a few strands could be made from them, that is sure. But how many fine strands can be made remains a question.

Inge,

You know that you will always be on the list no matter what we decide to do with them;)

The pearls look bright silver-gray on this side of the screen, not white. A matter of photographic distortion?

Akoya keshi sounds great  Are there any of macroscopic size?
