Curious do any of you pearly people have triple strand "TIN CUP" necklaces. Not long strands that you can double or triple but actual triple strands.

I have an idea in my head for another gift for my mom, but using smaller pearls and gemstones 4, 5 and 6mm. I'm just starting to assemble the gems. I thought three strands because the beads are on the smaller side.

I am going to wire wrap and chain linked. Which I have not done in a very long time…it will be interesting. I am thinking fall colors, orange & red garnets, smokey quartz and brown and yellow freshwater pearls with cream akoyas.

Thanks for the perspective, that is what I was hoping for (and possible neck images too )

I made this a couple of years ago for a friend of mine as a retirement gift.

The back of that necklace is wonderfully crafted!

Thanks all!

For some reason I never made another triple strand, but now I'm motivated. I think I'm going to make a triple of off round 8-9mm white fwps with gold filled chain and also a triple white fwp nuggets with gold filled chain.

I always feel more comfortable making pieces with gold as opposed to silver. So many people don't seem to know how to take care of sterling silver. Plus, I think that white pearls look more elegant with gold than with sterling silver.

I'll show pics here once I've made the pieces.

BPD I have several 3, 4 and 5 tin cups made with gemstones that do not include pearls. They have not gotten any wear since I started wearing pearls almost exclusively over 6 years ago. The backs of them look like the picture that TaliLady posted. I could actually see myself wearing them if I had pearls added to them. I have several gemstone necklaces in the process of being remodeled to add pearls to them but they are single necklaces that I wear more than one at a time.

Your mom is lucky to have you creating something so wonderful for her to wear.

The problem being in the industry, Mom expects jewelry LOL. Even more so if I've created it myself.
Newberry your plans to revamp your necklaces to make them more wearable is a admirable, I wish more people would take the time to restyle jewelry, after all you loved them once before right :)
