I'm new to wire wrapping :). I do a little silversmithing, but have never wire wrapped. I'm a little sloppy but I like the way these earrings came out. I had some 22k ear wires already that can be used with multiple earring charms. So I just had to use some gold head pins. The pearls are really pretty. I think he sent me the wrong ones but I really liked them so I kept them. They were supposed to be drop shaped and I think these might be " short semi baroque". They are a great shade of green that even holds their own under sunlight!

These are the pearls I was going to use for my tin cup. But I don't love them all equally. The first four after the ringed one are my favorites. The other ones I'm not as crazy about. So I'm putting it on hold till I find some that I want to add to the mix. They are supposed to have blue, or cool tones.blue tones.jpg

I don't blame you for being picky about what you use for your tin cup - I would be the same way. If I'm going to take the time to create something like that I want to be 100 percent happy with what I pick out to be in my piece. For what it's worth, the pearls you have pictured are very pretty, even if you don't like them for this particular project! I can't view the earrings from the first post on my Kindle for whatever reason but I'm sure they turned out great!

Thanks Lary! I don't know why the image isn't showing up.earrings1.jpg I'll try again.

Oh I can see it this time! Love love the green. Just ordered some green Tahitians myself. Those turned out great!

I think I need some of those ear wires :) Very pretty earrings, CaseyR

Just now seeing your post! I'm a bit behind. ;)

Those are lovely pearls and the color works really well with the gold setting. What kind did you order? When I did my strand, I put all the pearls I didn't like towards the back since I wear my hair long and no one but myself will see them. As time goes on and I get more pearls, I'll eventually change them out to pearls I like, but for starters, I am happy with hiding them. I haven't started my tin cup yet, but have the pearls laid out and am using drops and ovals. I want them all to be somewhat similar in shape too. I'm thinking of working with gold filled or gold colors until I find the perfect pearls and chain so that I have something to play with and get a feel for what works and doesn't work. It gets too expensive to redo something you're not happy.

I'm a green girl, so I would have kept those beautiful earring pearls, too. Great job on your first wire wrap. I noticed recently that it had been so long since I had wire-wrapped, that I had to work my skills back up from the bottom. I'm going to do a super-long tin cup that I hope will be long enough to wear doubled. :)
