Necklace Project

Thanks Cathy...they were found in a box of various findings collected by my jeweler! I have no idea where they were purchased (which finding company supplied them) but he bought them specifically to use with Tahitians because he thought the colors would compliment a colorful peacock strand...well along I came with 63 Tahitian (Mangareva) pearls to be drilled and strung...When it was time to pick out a clasp, out came this wonderful box filled with little treasures...he also has one in brown plating with chocolate diamonds which would be TDF with golden SSPs. Any way, after some playing around we settled on these. I am working with someone else to create a very special clasp for the drops...I will be stringing them myself! (I hope, at least) So more on that project later!

Jersey Pearl ! pearls and dogs my passion! Beautiful creation and black nose!

JerseyPearl, that's quite an interesting story, and your jeweler has a creative eye :)

Fabulous findings for those gorgeous pearls and one seriously adorable pooch! :)

Thanks Katbran. When the jeweler opened the lid for the box of clasps, inside were all these tiny plastic boxes which you really couldn't see into very well. He had photos of the contents laid out on the lid of the box (just like a box of Sees Candies...and just as delicious, I might add). We looked at white gold, yellow and rose rondelles and clasps...and I wasn't seeing the WOW factor. Then in the back, under the second layer of tiny boxes (just like that hidden last caramel) out popped the pinks against the black. At first, he thought the clasp was a larger rondelle because of the rings on either side...but when he pulled them out, ever so gently with tweezers, we both looked up and said "That's it!" And underneath the clasps, were four tiny matching rondelles that we are placing on the front of the necklace. There will be 5 large pearls with rondelles on either side, then three slightly smaller pearls with rondelles on each side for a total of 4...just enough to add subtle sparkle and make the pearls' colors pop.
