I feel incredibly lucky to have picked up a pair of earrings in the Pearl Paradise sale of vietnamese akoya this month. They arrived in the mail today and could not have been more perfect. The colours were very true to the sale pics with plenty of turquoise-green and crimson hues. My photos can not do them justice.

I thought I really should post some pics for you in gratitude (my eldest daughter is modelling).

These will be my birthday present (my husband is very tolerant of my excuses for pearl-buying!)

Lizard, those pearls are scrumptious! I'll bet you won't want to wear anything else for a long time. :)

Oh, what a wonderful birthday present ... congratulations!

Lovely pearls, and quite blue! Wear them in good health. (You are lucky your daughter is willing to model -- I'm not sure my 17 year old would be willing.)

Is it for you, or your daughter? How sure are you she will let you keep them? ;)

You are so right! I have three daughters, aged 13 to 17... the oldest has already become a minor pearl addict, and requested a pearl necklace for her upcoming 18th birthday (thanks Pearl Paradise!), and the previous year it was pearl earrings for her school ball (thanks pearl lunar!).

The youngest is also a bit of a magpie, although her initial requests were for her birth stone (sapphires), but she now takes a keen interest in the latest pearls as well... I'm afraid this is only fuelling my pearl addiction, knowing that some day all my birthday/Christmas/anniversary/excuse-of-the-month presents will be passed down to fascinated daughters!

While I am posting, I am also going to upload another fairly recent treasure - the vietnamese akoya from pearl paradise that I got last Christmas. I hope PP won't mind if I use their photo, as I haven't taken any yet (and it is too dark here now), but I do enjoy wearing pearls that I can see for myself...

And that comment is also very true! Fortunately, I have a lot of blue in my (southern hemisphere) winter wardrobe. I am certain they are going to match everything :)

Lizard, tell that youngest daughter that pearls and sapphires make a lovely combo ... I wear pearl studs with sapphire jackets ... not that I'm enabling you or her or anything LOL ... That Akoya bracelet is STUNNING! Would you mind if I borrowed that idea? I've been deliberating over a blue akoya bracelet design, and I think that's almost perfect ... I'm in Pennsylvania, so we won't see each other coming and going :) Thanks for posting, it's a beautiful piece!

OMG the colors in your earrings are wonderful, they glow! love the bracelet...i've been thinking about getting a tin cup bracelet to match my blue necklaces and earrings and yours is SO lovely :)
