Post a Picture of Your Work Table!!

I've always liked this thread and hope you don't mind that I've bumped it. For now, my work table is a portable bead board (several bead boards actually) with all my supplies stored in drawers and pulled out as I need them. Those are some of Pattye's threads in fun colors. Thanks, Pattye :)

Great idea to give this thread a bump, bluebirrrd! Yummy pearls there, and amethyst beads and a very cool mabe or(?) pendant. Thanks very much for trying out my Beaders' Secret Thread and the mention, I hope it works very well for you!

I admit to a collection of bead boards! Fun to see some of the newer P-G members workspaces.

GG, I've already gushed over your awesome long worktable and array of tools on fb.

Charmed One, clever use there of the computer desk, I spot lots of drawers, too!

Wow! Your workspaces made me smile a lot. For that, I thank and admire each of you!!!

bluebirrrd, I just noticed that your beadboard is in a portfolio. I've never had anything that nice. Does it close well enough to keep the beads in when you carry it around?

LOL GG, it sure is ;)

BAS, Thank you so much! My oldest son helped me put it all together. I found that old wooden bead board for a $1 and he wanted to sand it down nice and smooth for his mom. I ended up spending $17 on three different kinds of sand paper, but to watch him take the time and do that for me, made me so proud  Then I gave him $10 for his work, so he made out lol. That ended up being one expensive board. But the look on his face when he finished it and gave it to me. PRICELESS!! Gotta love him :D

I had an amazon gift card so I picked this because of the case. I like that it folds closed because it's very stackable and protects projects from dust. You have to keep it flat and/or add a bead mat or towel or something to hold things in place. The sides don't zip so you could still have runaways. There are some pockets and loops to hold tools and supplies. $13.49

What a great thread!
We did not tidy up for the picture I promise..;)

That's the hard reality of a jewellery studio
anything but tidy..."Have you seen my pliers?"

It looks great. Nice view out the window. That would be a nice distraction. :)

Lovely NZ.... your pliers are probably hanging out with my wire cutters :)

Ha! I hear you. I'm still missing a favorite set of files and the post that supports my hand drill, amongst other things. Once I get going, that new table is going to look decrepit. :)

NZ, Are you on a horse farm? Do you have four legged admirers that come up to see you work?:)

I can not believe how tidy most of your desks are!! We have been trying so many systems to keep it clean but nothing seems to work. Last option I thought of is a punishing fee every time one of us is leaving the workbench in a mess..The view is a distraction you are right, lovely cow and horse paddocks outside on one side and a view towards the ocean on the other..

This thread is so inspiring!

My stuff is neatly in a box, like KarinK, but I make a temporary set-up for the duration of a project, and this is giving me so many good ideas!

I love seeing all of these work spaces! I'm just getting started, so at this point everything is still in a large craft box with compartments that I pull out and put on my coffee table while I'm knotting. I guess I'll need something more organized soon...

Do you all unstring your temporary strands when you get them? Or do you keep them on the strands?

Well, I keep mine on strands, mark with the price I paid and who they came from. Although the first year I didn't do that, but wished I had. When you get lots more, you'll likely find it helpful. Easier to work with strands when coordinating with other pearls or gemstones, too. If I take a few pearls off, whenever possible I knot the string back up so I know how many inches of pearls there are. Somehow they multiply when in those boxes! :p

That makes sense - I didn't think to mark where they came from. I'm sure I'll lose track of all that quickly! Right now my box is a big mess full of little ziploc baggies, I need to organize things better...
