Just wanted to share the strand I just received from the folks at Pearl Paradise, as part of the baroque Tahitian promotion... For fun, they're next to a grey strand I got myself for my birthday a few months ago from Sheryl (which has strong green and pink overtones that I am absolutely in LOVE with).

The PP strand I believe is supposed to be peacock, AA+. I love the shape of the ringed pearls and they truly have brilliant luster. The peacock tones show up a little better once they have had a chance to "warm up" on the skin, which I think a few others on the forum have mentioned.

Both are very pretty. =D> I love the unique clasp on the older strand too.

I love both strands ! I think Tahitians are very addictive - so many colours, shapes and sizes. .... I need a second strand of Tahitians soooon ....

Merry Christmas by the way, to all my pearl addict friends :) Hope Santa brings you what you wish for this year. x

So beautiful! Do you ever wear them together?

Thanks, everyone! Hmmm... for some reason the photos look more grainy and washed out in the post than the files saved on my computer.

The clasp is from Nina Designs. I really like the box clasps that the site carries, as they are very substantial and sturdy. They are a bit pricey but if one does all of one's shopping for the year at once, the quantity discount makes it a little bit more bearable. Plus, that beautiful strand deserved something that would match its dignity ;-) The uploaded photos don't do justice to its beautiful flashes of rose and green.

I couldn't believe how affordable these at PP were. I had missed out on previous promotions that I keep reading about in the forum, coming rather late to the party. I was NOT going to miss out on this one! Now, I just need a pistachio strand to round out the collection... Sarah at Kojima Pearls had a few pistachio strands that were absolutely TDF, but were a bit out of my budget at the time.

Would it be too over the top to wear them together layered? So tempted to do so at the next special occasion. I don't want to seem obnoxious (when it's really just obsession).

I'd wear them together! I bet they are quite nice. I don't think it obnoxious as long as you are gracious and friendly.

Of course some of those who know me may think of me as Madame OTT, I say wear them together!!! :O)

You could torsade them and I think the overtones would really sing!

And make your own rules for wearing them! After all, those are pearls you're playing with, not strings of army boots or such. What pleases your eyes will look lovely...

You might even realize that people don't really notice it even you feel you're 'over the top'. Few people recognize good pearls when they see them.

I've just had a related discussion with a dear friend about gem stones. There are those who couldn't care less if it's cz or, in the case of pearls, fake and never notice what you are wearing. Then there are those who go only for the value of things, and finally there are those who go all cross-eyed and puppy-like from love of the pearls or the gems...

Wow, Lulu! Congratulations on those beautiful pearls. I just love the fat shape of your baroques from PP.

This is sooo true, Karin.

Wow Lulu; those strands are very different and both so lovely! They really compliment each other. I will bet they would look amazing together. Please give us a neck shot some day.
