Can you reccommend someplace in ST LOUIS MO for an appraisal on pearls?

I inherited pearls from my mother that my father brought her when he came back from the Korean War. All I know is they are "real" , but not quite sure what that means. I took them to a jeweler but he said he works on diamonds & doesn't know how to identify whether they are saltwater or fresh, and he said that makes a big difference. I just want to get them appraised. Any suggestions? In St. Louis, MO

Maybe someone can give you a local place, I can't. But please post some photos! We can give you some opinions, and admire them.....
