Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

So I know I just posted but I just now got a new necklace and, surprise, matching earrings from Sly Tug of Sunshine via mail and I’m kinda swooning over the gorgeous design. Worth the wait!! The enormous single pearl came from Cees. I am in love.

Very fun new necklace, MintyFresh! Do you find your new necklace stays in place? I purchased a necklace several years ago with a large off-centered Tahitian and it kept working its way to the center front because of the weight. I ended up re-making it to rest in front, but it defeated the purpose of that off-centered look that I liked.

Blue Tahitian necklace and studs from Alex Collins, worn with a large Tahitian pendant from Kojima.

Beautiful pearls, jeg!

As for the question, so far so good. I’m wearing the necklace nested with another, so maybe that’s what is keeping the big pearl in the right place. Also, I positioned the big pearl so it’s sitting in the hollow above my collar bone. I think that is a little lower than designed but it’s more visible that way (especially with the hair).

Thanks so much, ennui! It’s slightly longer than most of my ropes, so I tend to knot it or double it.

Teeny tiny Akoya keshi with sapphire briolettes from my visit to House of Keshi in Kobe, last fall. Worn with dangles I made with tiny Akoya baroques from Takahashi. I went on a binge a few days ago, making simple dangle earrings with pearls I had. Nothing is a perfect match because they were just in my stash. Besides studs, these are going to be travel pearls because all I need is one set of leverbacks and I can change out the dangles.

JEG: That keshi and briolette necklace is gorgeous. I regret not buying one during the PP Live event they did. Love your mix and match dangles, too.

I'm easing back into getting dressed up. Akoya pearls. But faux pearl sheep. Opal and akoya ring from OceanRhyme. Vintage akoya ring and circle brooch from my Mom's collection. Pearl the Sheep pin from my friend Merrily. It brings together my love of spinning wool into yarn with my love of pearls.
