Good on you. It is satisfying isn't it? I think that is/was the beauty of CFW pearls - they were affordable and you could experiment with different beads, not necessarily precious, to come up with different designs.

Exactly—sometimes you just need some cheap thrills. I’m booking to go to the Tucson Gem Show and to the Cook Islands in the next few months, so I’m trying to save my Pearl budget for those.

Visiting Dad today. Tahitians all the way. Opal and pearl drop earrings and bubble necklace (the longer one) from Kojima Pearl. TNT necklace (Tahitians and tourmalines) from Ocean's Cove. La Perlagrina pendant from Kamoka Pearl. The intense colors of the pearls are not showing in the photos.

That sea shell on the mirror is from the previous owners of the house, and it won't come off I've grown to like it.

SS studs from Takahashi, a champagne golden SS strand and golden ombre rope from PP, a very special golden SS pearl I chose at the last PP Ruckus that I had set on Hisano’s little h bail, and worn on an Akoya and Akoya keshi pearl chain I strung with pearls from a Hong Kong show. I don’t know why I keep pulling out such dark clothing for holiday parties this year…

Even though I have 9 mm Hanadama akoya stud earrings, I like to wear black and white 9.5 mm Tahitian pearl studs with my 8mm natural white Hanadama akoya rope. Akoyas from Pearl Paradise. Tahitians from Kamoka Pearl farm.

It’s a pink FW and not a common size but I think you should be able to find one if you do a search and/or wait long enough. I happened to see this pearl when I was walking around a pearl market in Beijing

I bought it wanting to create a pair of huge mismatched ear studs with a blue SSP but lost the energy to find a SSP big or blue enough.

Baroque golden South Sea pearls with golden and white keshi dangles. Both necklaces from Pearl Paradise. White South Sea pearl drop earrings from my Mom. I like how the style of the earrings compliments the Pomme de la Mer pendant, even though the colors of the pearls do not match. Since the dangle necklace has white and gold keshi, it pulls all the pearl colors together.

Had a Christmas party to go to last night so I got out my multi-color necklace (Fiji? Tahitian? Mix with South Sea? The gemologist report is pending) with gold pearl earrings & bracelet and my feather pearl ring. It was so fun to actually wear them, I have been inspired by everyone on here to wear them more often

Thank you! They’ve got nothing on yours but they’re really fun. I’m thinking I should come up with a bracelet that better matches the necklace but the little akoyas are so sweet. Seeing how much you (and everyone else on here) wear your “fancy” pearls really inspires me to wear the ones I have too. I just looooooove seeing all the posts!

Thank you! The pearl one is a rather large feather pearl I picked up at the Tucson Gem Show years ago that I had made into a ring. It’s so unique! The areas that show up darker in the picture are completely rainbow iridescent. The other ring is my peak millennial wedding ring

I just booked everything to go to the Tucson Gem Show next month, I’m sooooo excited

Ive really been wanting some interesting, different pearl jewelry so I took a $6 thrifted fwp necklace and added some baroque Edison’s from Uodora and a few gold beads and poof! A fun, interesting necklace. I love it! That stringing tutorial has really helped me

I’m curious: where do you find pearls at a “thrift” price? Are you shopping consignment stores or what?

My caliper came in, so I can confirm the strand is 7mm! 16 inches.
