I would like to find out as much as I can to determine the worth of my grandmas pearls. Any input is appreciated, thanks a lot!!

My initial reaction is that the pearls are too round and too uniform, and that the surface appearance is too clean to be real, however, I could be wrong.

Need to know more though such as size of the pearls and if they pass the teeth test etc...

Hopefully, the experts will come along to give their opinions soon.

It's hard for me to tell.. definitely more smooth than gritty but it does have some grit to it. But could be from its just a kind of plastic coating or something.

Has weight and a more heavy feel to it for sure.

Weight is no indicator of cultured pearls...glass beads in imitation pearls are heavy. My imitation strands are heavier than my cultured pearl strands.

What color are they? They look pinkish in the photos. I'm wondering if they could be cultured freshwater pearls. Do you have any idea when she bought or received them?
