Please help! Are these real Tahitian pearls?

These are the cheap quality dyed freshwater buttons, not tahitians, unfortunately. I also don't think they were cut, it's just that the back is not covered with a cup - but for the cup I think there would be many more of such pearls seen around. Nothing unusual. But if you like the idea of them being cut - ok, they could have cut off a tip of a bad quality circled potato freshwater pearl to make it sit flat.

To me they are not even well match in terms of color..
