Please can someone help identify these pearls possibly help with an estimate value.

I got this from m mum and I'm trying to identify the makers mark but unfortunately I haven't been able too

It's a 14 karat white gold (50 inches in length) Multi Tahitian & South Sea pearl necklace (8.5X14mm pearl sizes)

Welcome! An awesome necklace for sure! The marks you're showing belong to the company that made the clasp, not the designer of the rope. I don't see anything that will indicate who the designer is. The number 408901 may relate to the specific style. Enjoy!

It seems to be a generic brand and the little mark on the clasp is likely the manufacturer of the clasp, not of the necklace.

Most pearl necklaces are generic.

Are you thinking you need to insure it, and looking for replacement value? If so and if the tag doesn't have a price on the reverse, perhaps you could just ask you mother what she paid for it. However I don't think it needs to be insured. It is not that high-end.

Regarding quality/value, circlé or circled pearls are the least costly types of Tahitians and SSP (because they are the most common.) Pearls with 1-2 circles are the most valuable of circled pearls, and the more circles there are the lower the value, because circles can interfere with the appearance of luster. Yours have more circles, therefore slightly lower market value.
But they are still cultured sea pearls! And many people like circles! I do. I own circled Tahitians, white SSP and GSS. I find the shapes interesting.

I see some of your pearls have tokki. Those are the little knobs on the ends of some of the pearls. There used to be a great article about tokki pearls in SSEF magazine (Swiss Gemmological Society) and I looked for it so I could give you the link but the article is not online anymore. These little knobs sometimes form as separate little pearls as a result of the culturing process, and then they attach themselves to the main pearl, and then the oyster lays down nacre over the entire thing. They are cute-- but take care as they could break off. Specifically be careful when you remove the tag as the white part of the tokki pearl near the tag could be fragile. However, if you were asking about value because you don't care for the necklace and are wondering how much you could sell it for, this is our standard advice: check eBay for SOLD listings of a similar strand. That will give you an idea of what people seem to be willing to pay for that kind of thing at the present time.

I have NOT seen that "pac-man" mark before. There are on-line shopping networks: sometimes jewelry is made for a designer by several companies, but that carry marks that seem to be unrelated to the designer that sells the jewelry or sometimes it is double marked. I had to sell jewelry from a hoarder, who shopped with on-line/TV shopping networks. Figuring out the designer was very hard..... I gave up and sold things by gold, silver & precious gems. (My guess is yours is like that...on-line shopping.). But there is a way to look up patent & trademarks as well as jewelry stamps.....but the AI hasn't caught up to that yet & it takes a long time. Also artisan jewelers get custom stamps & can mark generic clasps very easily then use them to string pearls, but I haven't seen that very often.

As Pearl Dreams said: the value is in the Pearls themselves. If it was one of the Big Pearl firms: Mikimoto, Tasaki, Tiffany, Maui Divers, etc...that would add to the value...but none of those use that mark. Still great gift & nice pearls!

I have a Tahitian bracelet with one of those knobs that did snap off. It's not noticeable, but yes, it happens.
Fifty inches is a great length!

If any of the little knobs do snap off, it may leave a rough, uneven area. Just take a fine nailfile and level it out. It will hardly be noticeable when strung.

Hi guys, thank you for all your input, s I checked ebay and the least prices could fine for something like mine or close to mine was about $650 an it was an 18 inch necklace with 29 pearls in total but mine is 50 inches and about 72 pearls in total, so I'm just being a bit optimistic but I honestly don't know.

At any given time one may not find an item exactly like what one owns, especially if it is unusual. I don't think the items you found are very similar to your strand.

So let me just ask you outright: are you merely curious about the replacement value of your necklace, or are you actually trying to figure out what you'd get by selling them? Is selling the necklace your aim?

If the former, I'd suggest looking online for similar necklaces that are being offered for sale new. Try Etsy, try tahitianpearls.biz, and just google. It would take almost 4 necklaces of 18" each to make a 50 inch necklace. So do the math.

And if trying to sell it, then do the same search but divide the new value by half, or even more, to imagine what you might get for them if you sold them. Unfortunately new pearls are a bit like new cars-- they lose value as soon as they leave the lot. Pre-owned is pre-owned-- but it will help a lot if the tag is still attached when you list them.
