Not sure how to feel about these.

I’m still pretty new to pearls and I decided to order a secondhand pair. I didn’t realize how yellow they would look compared to the listing. Are these too yellow? I understand older pearls can discolor with age but is this typical? The luster is still great!

Color is really a matter of personal preference, of whether you like the way they look on your own skin.
It's true that pearls tend to become a bit yellowed over time, but some pearls are just more cream colored from the start.

I prefer whiter pearls because they look better with my skin and the "winter" tones of my clothes, but I have some older pearls that are cream colored, and wear them when I'm wearing more muted, neutralized clothing colors.

Akoyas do naturally occur in golden tones, which is my estimation of your strand. They do have great luster!
I have a golden Akoya bracelet from PP, and a strand. I combine them with golden South Sea earrings.

They are a beautiful color, but it depends on your preferences. Do you wear more warm tones? Stark white pearls tend to make me washed out personally .

I had a strand of naturally golden Akoya pearls that I ended up finding a new home for because pale yellow is just not my color. It looked lovely, though.

As others have mentioned, it’s a matter of personal preference and if the color works for you. I personally love golden Akoyas. I have a strand of vintage Akoya and a new strand of golden Akoya and they are almost identical.

Inner strand is a vintage strand, outer strand is a strand of golden Akoya.
