Hi again!
I have come across a couple of these items that are signed "K. Mikimoto Tokyo" notably
http://www.shopgoodwill.com/viewItem.asp?ItemID=27432026
and
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Signed-K-Mi...513958?hash=item2811ee2e66:g:1RMAAOSwaA5WlTRE
I can't seem to find a comprehensive Mikimoto history site, do any of you folks know about the history of the "clamshell" marking, if it has always been used, if either of these are, ahem, "inspired" pieces and what approximate age items marked with the "K. Mikimoto" would be? I am especially curious about the goodwill one because the font seems like old-timey "oriental" throw-back style. Like way throwback. Like Chop Suey throwback.
Anyway, thanks and hope everyone on the east coast is staying warm!!!
