Excited to have these pearls on the way in. I was searching for round but fell in love with these, so here we are. It has been a couple of years since I knotted pearls. I am thinking bronze, or a gray serafil for thread. I need a bit longer necklace, so I am augmenting the strand with the bracelet pearls. 8-11mm. I think it will blend okay...hope it will! I love mixed colors.

Thanks you! I do not have those colors, BWeaves, but I love your ideas! Once I have the pearls in hand, I will experiment with colors. I do have a few grays and greens and bronzes on hand from Pattye. I am intrigued by the dark purple idea.

Gorgeous pearls! Instead of deep purple, how about a foggy lavender?

That's so fun! I'll check that out. I do like the idea of something with a little pop of color

And unfortunately, that necklace had sold out by the time I had spoke with them about the bracelet and necklace match so here’s the second draft pick which I think might be my first draft pick because I really like them too.

Looking forward to seeing your pearls all knotted up! I’ve used a few different colors with my Tahitian strands. I have a couple shades of gray that I use a lot, and another color that I use a lot is teal. I only use Serafil thread from Pattye. Pulling up some examples-

The front strand is one I put together with T’s from CMW. I used a light gray for this strand.

I can’t remember the name of this color I used on a bracelet of Fiji pearls. It’s a beige with a greenish tint.

I used teal for several pieces-

Oh my gosh, @jeg the pearls are gorgeous! Love the color selection. The teal choice is absolutely beautiful. The pearl colors in the second bracelet with the green tones beige/tan are fantastic! The ringed pearls are also just chef's kiss.

I have a collection of serafil, although do not know yet what color would best suit the new strand, as cool as it is. Also, I bought a 14k yellow ball clasp for the first set of pearls, but I think the colors (dropping the picture again to minimize scrolling) calls for white metal. I may have a set of clasps like yours in my bead box. I will explore tomorrow. Don't even remember what I have in the box, except many grays, whites, greens and bronzes. I'll wait until they arrive to see how light they are in real life.

☺️ I really don’t think you can go wrong with thread color, MMtwo! I have a lot of multi-colored Tahitians, and just about every color blends in. My personal preference is more to blend in, however, so I haven’t used any wild contrasting colors while knotting yet. I pulled out a few more strands of mine that have a cooler color mix.

I used “Gray” on the strand in front. It’s the lighter of the gray choices. I used “Teal” on the strand in back.

For the bracelet, I used “Storm” which is the darker of the gray spools. I did not knot the strand behind it, but a black thread was used for that. One of these days I’ll get around to re-knotting it with a lighter color.

Knots on strands are so small, I think they really add just a subtle hint of color when reflected off the pearls, unless you use a very contrasting color thread to add some fun. So, any choice for your new pearls will be fantastic!

Once again I really appreciate the photos. Very helpful. Beautiful pearls! Looking at the necklaces I see what you mean, it is a small knot so smaller impact in general, but I can see the difference. This is reassuring that most probably any of the greys or blues would do well.

You are welcome! I don’t even remember what I have done, so it’s kind of fun to go back and look. If those pearls are a really light, cool, color with silvers and light blues, it might be pretty on “Sky” too. I use Sky mainly with my blue/silver blue Akoyas.

Trying another shot. Sorry, it turned very dark and overcast here-

I think it would be a great color for a silvery blue/gray strand.

I use Sky a lot for my blue baroque akoyas. But I love the Teal with the Tahitians.

Sarah at Kojima has been knotting Tahitians with Lime Green lately. I didn't like it in the online photos because it looked like it was a bit much, but I've seen the necklaces in real life, and the Lime Green knots are a lot more subtle looking. Really a nice pop of color between the pearls.
