First I thought these would be lots smaller. (these are over 9-10mm)..but I was buying by the color...which is Not showing up...a blue grey with variations (which also isn't showing)...that makes my heart sing! I suspect they are dyed freshwater...but I was hoping saltwater when I saw them in person. (No, I did not pay much.) I just want this particular color to be saltwater...but I need more people's opinions please.

A Breaker, I'm leaning toward saltwater also. How long is the strand? Many of the dyed pearls I have show more dark blue/purple where these pearls seem to be more gray/green. Also I see the "fish bites" typically seen on Tahitians.

Looking forward to comments from others ~

These days I need to be able to zoom in closer to see details. (My right eye has a cataract that is ready for surgery, but I am waiting until spring to do it.) But I, too, am leaning toward their being Tahitians.

17"long. ...my phone...so horrible on days & my eyes are just as bad! I am attaching the sellers photos...again I bought on color. The seller took much better photos! That silvery blue...& It is that way in person! (Was listed as 10mm...somehow ignored that??) ..I think I saw the color, fell in love & took a chance on it being accurate...it is!)

Dyed FWP, is what I think.
The appearance of the pits, the poor stringing job, the way the clasp is attached without gimp, and the overall quality of the surface.
Also Tahitian pearls in strands are not usually all the same size; usually there is a bit of graduation.

What does the seller say the clasp metal is?
Did the seller claim they are Tahitians?

All of that being said, by all means string and enjoy them, assuming you paid FW prices and not Tahitian prices.
