Imitation pearls may have a high sentimental value, but not much dollar value. Is there a story with this strand?
This necklace was my great great grandmothers it was passed to me by my mum just wanted to find out more information about it as was intending on giving it to my daughter to keep up the tradition

Thanks so much for the information 🤩
I also have my grandmother's faux pearl necklace with a sterling silver clasp. She gave it to me when I was 11 because she knew I loved pearls. I still have it 56 years later, and I wear it occasionally. I'll pass it down to my niece or her daughter eventually. It's really not worth anything except the sentimental value I have for it. There's no easy way to date a clasp like that exactly. Those were available for several decades, and are even copied today for vintage look jewelry. My grandmother and her generation wore their faux pearls proudly.
