How does one get chewing gum off pearls? Ok, I am chewing gum. I place my strand of pearls in my mouth. Ouch! Then... Do I need say more?

Thank you so much for the out-loud laugh! Is it only on a pearl, or did it get on the silk and knots between pearls, too?

Actually, now I want a visual, please. Nice and sharp and big.

I wonder if putting an ice cube against the gum will help? This would chill the gum so it could be chipped off (with a fingernail-- don't use anything harder!)

Yep, I want pics too! :)

Ice sounds good to me. We used to use peanut butter to get gum out of our hair too. But maybe not on the string...
Good luck.

I have used a product called Goof Off, and it works miracles! even removed gum from carpet easily! Im sure it would remove the gum in one swipe. Im not sure if it would be harmful to the pearl, as i remember it was not chemical smelling, more of an oily liquid, if used quickly and rinsed it should be fine. Hope this helps!
