I just saw this. I think it is very clever...since this is only a representation...I wonder how good they all look? (I am NOT buying it...just sharing the idea & wondering.). But what on earth could the yellow be? It is called Mother of Pearl...hmm? What does everyone think of the idea?

Could it be dyed, carved abalone shell? Or some other species' shell? I have a carved shell leaf that I bought from Agustus Collection a few years back-- it's not that garish color but it is a light golden yellow.
Edited to add, I just checked and Agustus Collection has some pendants with a similar yellow carved shell material, some attached to a pearl.

The listing says golden SS, gold-lipped Pinctada Maxima shell. One has to scroll way, way down to find additional info on the Agustus listings.
Historically we've seen unusual, possibly flawed pearls combined with metal or gem to create "creatures" amd make the best of unusual pearls.
It doesn't say that the shell material is enhanced color. The Items seem to be quite small in size, and the whole shells are very large, so possibly there is a large amount of shell with the deep gold color that can be carved. Quite charming, imo.
