Anyone with stick pearls strung lengthwise? I want to make a long necklace and can’t seem to get a nice visual with searches. All I see are short.
I would love to see a pic if anyone has an opera length or longer.

Is it hard to wear peach or purple colored pearls? Hard to match skin tones and clothes?

This is what I’m going for but 35” or longer

You could add a small roundish pearl or gemstone between each stick pearl for an interesting look and possibly more supple drape.

I have long pearls strung with chain, like a tin cup. I think it's 20", though.

I have two of the pearl/chain necklaces, one 18" and one 20" and I layer them. The other necklace is four stick pearls that I rescued from a $10 bracelet at TJMaxx, and strung with my grandmother's Hawaiian souvenir pearls; it's casual and beachy.

Those are very pretty! I love the luster! Are you going to restring them with purple/pink thread? I am shocked at how much a good color of thread can do for pearls. While the black is fine, the right color can cause the thread to go from being distracting or okay to making the pearls sing! (Pattye has a tons of colors in her shop.)

I did them on purple thread I ordered from Pattye. She’s so sweet. I reached out and she helped me choose the colors

It is just the surrounding colors..& camera skew of colors...and my monitor? Sorry about that! It will look different on you too...so a neck shot will be lovely!.

Here’s a better picture but not in natural lighting.

I think I may restring them with seed beads or gemstones like Marianne suggested for a better drape.

The purple of the thread shows!!! Before you restring...soak in distilled water until the the thread is wet...gently pull on each pearl to tighten the knots a tiny bit especially where it doesn't hang quite right. If you still don't like it after it dries..restring! (I am not anywhere as good as Pattye at stringing..so my knots can get uneven.) My MIL said she had her pearls restrung & they never hung right...when she sent them to me to restring (and add more pearls) I realized they had made the knots a little too tight in spots. So I made sure that I washed & stretched hers just a bit after I added pearls & restrung hers. I even got a stunning used pearl necklace (great luster!!) that must have been strung too tight to start with...and the owner did Not wear it at all. A soak in distilled water & gentle stretch...gorgeous! (Do NOT do this with old pearls on cotton or silk...you will be restringing them..they break with stretching & water!). I even did that with a brand new faux pearl brand..just too tight of knots & 5 minutes time. I'll pass those on to someone else..but I hate to see something lovely unworn, tossed or donated (the next person won't wear it either!!!) because of a little stretching! So try the soak & gentle stretch first!

I like the bean clasp, so maybe look for some small barrel shapes? Amethyst would be obvious, but maybe tourmaline or fluorite.
